WCW nWo Revenge emulation

I'm having problems running this game. I used to be able to play it, but not anymore. I loads up well, but regardless of hi-res textures or just the normal game it starts flickering and the wrestler graphics dissapear, I have to wait a few seconds for them to reappear whenever I choose a new guy in the wrestler select screen. I'm on Windows 7, and tried both PJ64 2.1 and 1.6. Help?

I need to change "Direct3d Clear Mode" to "Only Per Frame" every time I start the rom back up, it might help...maybe.

Direct3d Clear Mode is at Graphic Config-Rom Settings.

Yeah I always have to select options/configure graphic's plugin/advanced/software rendering
and only to play to dump have to unselect and then screen is black.
