The WWE are planning to change history, but not in a good way.
One change is that they now no longer recognise the WWE United States Championship as one of the Grand Slam titles. To win a Grand Slam, one wrestler would have to win a major, secondary, tertiary and tag team championships in their lifetime. This decision came after WWE announced that Big Show and the Miz had both won the Grand Slam in 2012, when this was not the case. Big Show finished the grand slam in 2003, but the Miz has not yet won a tertiary title.
The only tertiary title that count are the former European and Hardcore championships. There are no plans to re-activate either title, so all future Grand Slam winners must have claimed one of these titles between 1998 and 2002*. There is debate as to whether or not the Money In The Bank contracts should count instead.
*(The European Championship was introduced in 1997, but all title holders that year have already completed the grand slam, or have died).
The change will not mean that anybody will forfeit their grand slam achievement as all of them have won the Intercontinental Championship anyway. It just means that JBL and Big Show's inclusions has been set back.
