WWE SEC has recently released a list confirming the production costs of each WWE produced movie to date. However, all of the information on this list contradicts previously released information.

These figures are misleading. If they were genuine, then they show that the WWE has only had 3 successful movies so far. These are The Marine 1 & 2, and Behind Enemy Lines 3. Similarly, these figures suggest that The Condemned, The Reunion and That's What I Am are the 3 biggest failures, losing the most money.

Here are the figures:

Licensed films
* See No Evil from May 2006 which cost $10.4 million
* The Marine in October 2006 cost $20.2 million
* The Condemned in May 2007 cost $17.5 million
* Behind Enemy Lines 3 in January 2009 cost $2.5 million
* 12 Rounds in March 2009 cost $19.7 million
* The Marine 2 in December 2009 cost $2.3 million

Self-distributed films:
* Legendary in September 2010 cost $5.3 million
* Knucklehead in October 2010 cost $6.4 million
* The Chaperone in March 2011 cost $5.8 million
* That’s What I Am in April 2011 cost $4.7 million
* Inside Out in September 2011 cost $5.1 million
* The Reunion in October 2011 cost $6.9 million
* Bending The Rules in March 2012 cost $5.5 million

A film is considered a failure if money from ticket, DVD and merchandise sales is less than the cost to make the film. But the figures above do not include marketing costs. And some do not include the cost of distribution on DVD. And the money paid to the WWE Superstar in each film has also been excluded. Each of these are normally included in production costs. So it is possible that total profits or total losses may be much less than what is suggested here.

Before this list was released, The Condemned was considered the biggest success, followed closely by Knucklehead. While both films did very poorly in cinemas, both films were major successes in DVD sales. However, Knucklehead had a very limited distribution and was only showing for 2 days in most places. However, That's What I Am and The Reunion were still the biggest failures, losing the most money.

The WWE and WWE SEC are treating this information as fully accurate. Which means that the WWE are treating this as very bad news. They have spent at least $118,400,000 dollars on making 13 movies, and only 3 of them made any kind of profit. Therefore 10 made huge losses.

It should be noted that the WWE and WWE SEC had been planning to change how WWE Movies operated for several months. They are about to go into production of The Marine 3, and Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin will play the titular role.
