Members of WWE backstage staff have leaked current story lines leading into the TLC- Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-videw.
The comments have been revealed through Twitter and remarks made to interviewers and fans. This is in spite of a new initiative preventing WRESTLERS from spoiling story lines.
Wrestlers are encouraged to make great use of social media outlets, particularly Twitter and Tout. But they are not allowed to comment on future events, unless they are in character. For example, Wade Barrett has been saying that he expects to be Intercontinental Champion again in the near future. This is in relation to Barrett's recent victories over current champion Kofi Kingston, and not a promise of any title change or even matches.
Several websites were quick to report on Cena's recent injury. Cena chased Dolph Ziggler, and stumbled out of the ring awkwardly. The WWE gave a very specific guess as to the nature of his injury BEFORE Cena could be checked out. Several members of WWE staff have since told fans that the injury is not genuine. The internal feeling is that Cena needs to have an additional handicap before facing Ziggler at TLC. If Cena loses, then he has an excuse, but if he wins, the victory will be more significant. Although, both scenarios will make Ziggler appear weak.
There is no word yet if WWE officials will be taking any action over these leaks.
