Dixie Carter announced on her official Twitter page that current WWE Intercontinental Champion Christian will be at Slammiversary.

Her tweet read: “On a plane headed to Dallas for the big PPV this weekend. Very excited @Christian4Peeps is joinin us for the night. He’s one of my favorites”

Dixie did not actually say that Christian would be involved with the show in any way, but there is a lot of speculation that his role would have something to do with the launch of the TNA Hall of Fame.

Earlier this year when Ric Flair attended the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, he was still under a TNA contract. As part of the agreement to let him appear for a rival company, the WWE agreed to lend TNA a current WWE Superstar for a future DVD release later in the year. This agreement is still valid even though Flair has recently had his contract terminated. This story has been raised once again due to Dixie's announcement.

Christian had a short stint in TNA wrestling between 2005 and 2008. Christian's first WWE contract expired naturally in late 2005. As he did not have to adhere to the '90-day No Compete' clause, he promptly signed with TNA Wrestling. He used the name Christian Cage, a name he had copyrighted before joining the WWE. He would become one of the company's biggest stars over the next three years. He would hold the NWA World Heavyweight Championship twice, being the last TNA contracted star to hold the title.

It is probable that Christian could be the first TNA Hall of Famer due to the huge success TNA can attribute directly to him. Christian Cage's presence in TNA brought in high pay-per-view buyrates, live event attendees and high viewing figures almost as soon as he started appearing with the company. And he has played a huge behind the scenes role in developing much of the mid-card talent, the most noteable being Kazarian and A.J. Styles.

If Christian is not to be inducted in the Hall of Fame, then there is a high chance that a current TNA roster member will be. One that was under contract in 2005, which would cover a lot of stars.
