<table><tr><td>Ziggler a fan of Rock doing his own thing?

Dolph Ziggler was asked during an interview with WWE Magazine if there is anyone he loves listening to on the mic. He says The Rock despite not being "a huge fan" of his.

"Though I'm not a huge fan of The Rock, I admit that I am a fan of the fact that he does his own thing. He gets excited on the mic. He yells. He didn't listen to what people told him to do, and people responded to that. I appreciate someone who stands out and stands up for what he believes in, because that's what I'm trying to do," Ziggler says.

"When I finally get the chance to say what I want, to talk about where we're going from here on out, when my voice, my words, become the measuring stick for WWE, I think that's the moment that's going to reinvent our entire business."

TDK's Take:

Okay hold up. I got this... Let me save you the trouble...

It doesn't mean a thing 'cause Ziggler: a) doesn't have what it takes. b) hasn't proven himself. c) is just kissing up in hopes of getting a job. d) once said something bad to somebody's dog. e) has the nerve to flaunt Nikki Bella. f) was speaking in character. g) was speaking out of character, or h) any combination of the above.

See, who said I wasn't learning? :p</td></tr></table>

Actually, he's spot on, and saying the right things to put himself over.

He didn't manage to talk about any of the "other boys" or tell them how they should act, something that I didn't like about the other posts with former WWE talent, they actually had the gall to tell other guys (who have managed to actually keep their jobs) how they should be acting on the job. Last I checked, they were not exactly well known for being the smartest men when it came to backstage behavior. :)

Totally agree with Phil on this. The Rock talks a lot of nonsence, but that nonsence whips people into a frenzy. Why did he ever make any reference to the 'kung-pow chicken' thing? What did it have to do with anything? It was nonsense, but it whipped people into a frenzy. The Rock and Cena are both allowed to say whatever they want on the microphones, and their opponent's have to stick closely to a script. But the difference is, if people don't care what the Rock has to say, he usually makes them care. Cena just takes longer pauses between sentences.

Ziggler made the point that he likes the Rock's microphone skills. That is all. Like Phil said, he doesn't tell people that they should be grateful that the Rock is chosing to take the spotlight from them. And he doesn't pretend that the Rock is one of the all-time great performers. He simply says that he likes the way that he talks in character. And Ziggler makes it clear that he is just talking for Ziggler.

As for your other points, I think Ziggler does have what it takes. Two years ago, I said that he was being pushed too hard too. But he has worked hard since then and has improved greatly. Remember, this was one of the Spirit Squad who almost never had a singles match. Kerwin White's caddy. And he is now the guy just waiting to break through the glass ceiling and become a solid main-eventer. He has the look, the attitude, the in-ring ability, microphone skills, etc. The only thing wrong is that he STILL has Vickie Guerrero as his manager. Most of his losses are because of her, and he has stopped needing her 12 months ago.

As for flaunting Nikki Bella? Gotta say, I'm a little jealous of him there.

As much as I dislike Ziggler during the time when Kaval had a fued with him and made Kaval look like a jobber, he's growing on me. His mic work is great, his gimmick reminds me of Mr Perfect and Rick Rude, which makes the fans connect to him because he has a personality, unlike many others. Plus, his selling is awesome to watch. Hate to say it, but his matches with Zack Ryder made Zack look good.
