This stuff looks awesome! I wish I could just start off with something simple-making Randy Orton Bald lets say and then learn from there. Do you have any good tips to start?
And you said models don't transfer over smoothly? that sucks dude!

Is there also a way of redoing faces/textures. Some of it looks dated lol. Just a question. I have WWE 12 for the PS3, so if someone could tell me how to rip textures from there, I'd be happy to help you.

We have the WWE 12 textures at OSR for a while! S.K.Stylez ripped them for us.

Check the texture resource section in the WWF No Mercy and SvR sections. We have a whole lot more than that!

Also out of respect. Please do not post the textures we have ar OSR at other forums unless the ripper has given permission.

To be honest, I absolutely suck at texture modding. The main reason I do it is because there aren't many people who have an idea of how to mod HCTP as yet.

Yeah the SYM models have unresolved issues that make them not completely compatible with HCTP. You can see them in entrances and some cutscenes fine, but in-ring, unless you use some very trick work-arounds, they look like crap. The main tip I can make with HCTP is a lot of the models who are in other games that you may want to replace have issues in HCTP that can make things difficult. For instance the Randy Orton I made, as someone on YouTube pointed out, looks like he has two asses. Because he had tights instead of trunks in HCTP when I tryed putting trunks and skin textures in the same place a border between where the tights were originally and the rest of Orton's thigh is clearly visible. The main problem with HCTP is that you don't have the freedom of the SvR series, as you can not import other games' models, and you have a lot of work arounds to get something which may or may not be acceptable.

Any textures can be replace with better sources. Defract over at Caws had figured how to do this. I'm not sure whether he got the models to accept higher resolutions for the textures or whether he had just downscaled the source textures to match the HCTP ones, but modding more detailed textures is possible.

In SVR, when converting tights to trunks, the shadow/darker-part on the leg texture must be removed.
Otherwise we have the same 'border' effect you described. Its probably similar to HCTP modding.

EDIT: A link for defract's method ?

I see.
I've never done this before, and its probably a lot harder than it sounds...but cutting up and editing a pac file...like inserting stuff from WWE 12...it probably takes a lot of work. Can it be done in lets say...photoshop? Using the warp tool and such.

Not sure. There are two pac files, and two different programs for xploring and unpacking them.

so even with the characters being imported from SYM to HCTP, they're still choppy during in game play?

pfrchaos has figured out how to do so, but the method is trickier than the normal form of importing. One of the main parts of the workaround is using the model in slot 2. For some reason that works in-game. The entrances and most cut-scenes are able to display most models and textures, but in-game remains an issue.

The originator of this work, queoLita, seemed to know enough to possibly fix model id and loading issues, but dropped her work years ago and has disappeared.

The models are indeed HCTP based, but the Orton textures were transplanted from SvR 08 I think? Refract's work over at caws.ws (before things got shut down) showed that using the textures from later games looked amazing. HCTP renders better looking graphics IMO, as the SvR ones became incresingly cartoonish. So mixing SvR textures with HCTP models makes the best looking wrestler models IMO.
