This stuff looks awesome! I wish I could just start off with something simple-making Randy Orton Bald lets say and then learn from there. Do you have any good tips to start?
And you said models don't transfer over smoothly? that sucks dude!
Is there also a way of redoing faces/textures. Some of it looks dated lol. Just a question. I have WWE 12 for the PS3, so if someone could tell me how to rip textures from there, I'd be happy to help you.
To be honest, I absolutely suck at texture modding. The main reason I do it is because there aren't many people who have an idea of how to mod HCTP as yet.
Yeah the SYM models have unresolved issues that make them not completely compatible with HCTP. You can see them in entrances and some cutscenes fine, but in-ring, unless you use some very trick work-arounds, they look like crap. The main tip I can make with HCTP is a lot of the models who are in other games that you may want to replace have issues in HCTP that can make things difficult. For instance the Randy Orton I made, as someone on YouTube pointed out, looks like he has two asses. Because he had tights instead of trunks in HCTP when I tryed putting trunks and skin textures in the same place a border between where the tights were originally and the rest of Orton's thigh is clearly visible. The main problem with HCTP is that you don't have the freedom of the SvR series, as you can not import other games' models, and you have a lot of work arounds to get something which may or may not be acceptable.
Any textures can be replace with better sources. Defract over at Caws had figured how to do this. I'm not sure whether he got the models to accept higher resolutions for the textures or whether he had just downscaled the source textures to match the HCTP ones, but modding more detailed textures is possible.
