Hands down the most frustrating task Ive ever done

Trying to play a N64 game has become the bane of my existence. I'm sure the people that understand what theyre doing think its funny but those of us who just wasted 4 hours to find out they downloaded the wrong emulator version its not funny. No matter what I do, no matter what emulator or conversion I try the same thing happens and no one will help me. The wrestlers are stock but the taunts and everything else are correct. I just dont get it.

which version are you using? and please copy and paste the name of one of the texture files so we can know which plugin they're for. Thanks.

Im trying to run Showdown 64. I downloaded everything from here. When I try to play the game the characters havent changed but everything else is correct. I dont understand what you mean about the texture file. I got everything for the mod from here in the Showdown 64 Instllaller page.

You didn't specify that you used the installer in the first place. @"KWG" might be able to help you out with that.

Have you done everything according to the "Using the Setup" instructions? Did you enable texture loading on the Jabo plugin?

You can do so by going to Options -> Configure Graphics Plugin

There, you tick the "Always Use Texture Filter" box. After that, restart Project 64.

I guess I didn’t make it clear and I apologize but my frustration is not with this cool site. It’s with myself for not knowing what I’m doing.


For now I’ve given up on Showdown 64. I moved into another Mod.

Since I’ve got your attention. What program do I need or how do I go about taking faces and costumes from say Nwo Revenge and incorporating them into Wrestlemania 2K? I prefer 2K to No Mercy and there’s hardly any mods out there. I’ve got a great mod I found on YouTube but I want to edit a few wrestlers. I’m not worried about moves or taunts right now but I want to take faces and costumes from other games and use them. How do I get started?

Ive got the impression that misunderstandings go very far on this forum considering the fact that I cant even get a response or a "hey its cool man, weve all been there. No worries...Glad you got it working" Like I said I was frustrated at my newb level but wtfe right. Not that anyone gives a damn but I did get Showdown working via version 5.5. I was using the incorrect PJ64 Emulator and thats on me. Insane Rom...btw

first of all, in your first post you didn't even ask for help, you didn't provide any detail as to what your problem is, what you were doing, what save you were trying to run, nothing. What did you do? complain and rant at not being able to run a game.

secondly, we ARE trying to help you, but you don't provide enough details as to what exactly is wrong and even after being given directions you do NOT listen to them or address them.

thirdly, well sorry if we don't respond to you quick enough, because unlike yourself, most people here are busy adults with better shit to do other than to answer questions from entitled people who don't even have the class to ask politely for the help that they need.

A video by our friend @"dafamily" which covers the basics of texture dumping and replacing, which seems to be what you're looking for. Play a bit with texture dumping/replacing and you should get the hang of it.

Showdown 6.0's installer can be downloaded by scrolling down the page, pressing this button and copying the link, I'm sorry if that wasn't clear. However, you need to calm down. Being passive agressive/sarcastic to the staff will lead you nowhere, we warned you because we have a rule about new members requesting download links/updates and such for W.I.P projects. We didn't answer you because most of us are busy and the ones that were online probably didn't know how to properly help you.

I appreciate your response and your calm demeanor. Before this post every post was directed at Necro. I was under the impression that the two of us were engaged in a conversation. It did rub me the wrong way that after I apologized to him to let him know in no way was I trying to be whiny or impatient. I spent several hours like a dumbass messing with that Rom using the incorrect Project64 version. Its all good now as far as thats concerned. He asked me to provide a screenshot because version 6.0 had a parsed download link in the area of my screenshot at one time and then it vanished. I wasn't asking where to find a link. I already had 6.0 but thought it was strange that it was gone. I'm running 5.5 anyway and I'm fine with it. As far as my sarcasm it was intended for Necro and only him. My first ever post was in straight up frustration which I clearly pointed out and apologized for 2 times. I don't think he ever had any intentions of acknowledging me ever again. Which says what kind of admin he can be. I figured an admin of a major site would take these things into consideration and not be so quick to judge a newcomer. Newcomers are new here, it doesn't mean they're new to the internet or don't know how to act. I ribbed him to get his attention and nothing more and it worked. You'll notice I never used any personal attacks or profanity. I think his personal attack and profanity laced tirade shows exactly what type of person he is. Its kind of ironic reading his reply because that's one of the most emo keyboard smashing posts I've ever read. I don't think that's anyway for an admin to speak to anyone in a setting like this. Especially when he's trying to educate a new member on "manners." Sure I came off with an attitude but I complained the right way and manned up and explained my frustration. I could care less about the warning. I've just never seen a place warn someone when no personal attacks or profanity were used. If this post gets me banned its gets me banned. I don't require any vindication for the way NecroBoy spoke to me, I could care less. You and I both know he was out of line and I'm also sure you'll get a silent chuckle after reading my post because I guarantee you that you already knew Necro was super emo. I do enjoy this site and this post would have never been made if Necro hadn't of turned up the heat with the personal attacks and profanity. He was outline and I don't expect you to admit that to me.
