Some of you may know this already, but I just want to explain how the offense and defense parameters work in these games. We all know what they mean: The offense parameters are basically the attack power of the wrestler and the defense parameters are how much damage our wrestler can withstand. But how exactly is the damage calculated? Is the damage based on the difference between your offensive body part and your opponent's defensive body part? Yes, it is. But how? It is based on the difference between your offensive body part and your opponent's defensive body part, but it's definitely not [off. body part minus def. body part]. It's actually a multiplier depending on the difference.

Note: If the offensive body part is lower than the defensive body part, then it will just deal the base amount of damage, even if the offensive body part has a value of 1 and the defensive body part has a value of 5.

For example, if a wrestler has an offensive arm value of 4 and they do a regular piledriver on another wrestler with a defensive head value of 2, then instead of dealing 15 damage (base damage), it will deal 18 damage, since the difference between the offensive arm value and defensive head value is 2, which multiplies the piledriver's power by 1.2x.

Another example, if Kenta Kobashi (who has an offensive arm value of 5 in VPW 2) does his Burning Lariat finishing move on Masahito Kakihara (who has a defensive head value of 1), instead of dealing 45 damage (base damage), it will deal either 63 damage (1.4x; if he does the move after his special runs out, if he successfully strong grapples Kakihara right before it runs out) or 75 damage (~1.67x; if he does the move while his special is still active). When you activate your special, you get a 1.2x power boost on all of your moves and this stacks with the power difference multiplier. If your body parts have taken quite a bit of damage, having your special activated negates this until it runs out.

However, if your body parts are several damaged (to the point where you can easily tap out from a submission), then the power of your moves will drop to being half of their original damage value. Example, if your arms are completely messed up, then moves such as body presses and slams (such as the Powerslam and the Chokeslams) are much less reliable for ending the match (the Powerslam can go from delivering 25/35* damage to 12/17* damage). But if your body hasn't taken too much damage, then moves such as suplexes and body drops are more reliable.

*Base damage (1.0x)/Peak damage (1.4x)

I hope I explained this well enough for all you to understand! I ain't the best at explanations lol. If you got questions, feel free to ask me! Whenever! It won't be an instant reply, but when I see your question, I'll try my best to answer it! ^_^
