Sorry to bump this thread, but I found that if you win a championship match in Exhibition mode with the No Intros cheat activated, you will not win the belt and whoever you beat will still be champion.

When you win an Exhibition match, there would be a results screen that gives you the option to either have a rematch or exit. With No Intros on, after the match is over, the game goes straight to the main menu. In order to actually win the belt, the game relies on the results screen to appear before your wrestler actually gets the belt.
