This question came up on the MMotM : What if the save was half AKI and half Hi-Res, allowing the player to choose when they start the game? Is an option players would want? Or should the focus be strictly hi-res?

And why is nickvaizey always lurking in this topic?

Well, I personally like a save to be either of the one. A full AKI save or a Full Hi-res save.

I personally dont like a mixture of AKI/Hi-res as it looks unbalanced. Personal opinion of course.

EDIT: Good point about NickLazey. Well members who are cadets can not post in the modding sections until they reach student (20 Posts).

Blitz do you think cadets should be allowed to post in the modding sections?? I would like to see what everythinks on that!!!

I can code it to where it will be a selectable option. Default - Hi-Res. Press a button on a certain menu - Switches to AKI style.

Never been a fan of posting restrictions. I think all members who register should be allowed to post anywhere. But it's your board.

Holy Shit!!!!!!!

Well in that case then, it sounds amazing and am all for it!

EDIT: It was discussed a few occasions that we take off the restrictions on cadets posting, but its been undecided by staff. I will consult with the rest of staff more thank likely take the posting privlages off, so they can post. I think everyone should have a say in projects/saves that are going on here. :B-)

It was a jeep they used. But, it would still be cool to see in the parking lot or something.

Honestly? I'd go for Hi-Res, if you have the time to make it selectable, go for it.

The post rule came about when we had a huge influx of new people from caws.ws, and basically every post was:

"LINK PLZ! THX!" Even for unfinished work.

We still let them access all the mods and downloads, though. It might have to be discussed further.

I'm taking a step back from No Mercy all together, so updates on this project will not come from me.

My decision is based on the general build up of distaste for the No Mercy community. People bickering over textures and creating "wars" between forums. People who believe that hacks fall from the sky and want everything to be spoon fed to them. People who've been active for a long time and only stir up shit and don't even contribute. And then the others who treat this game beyond a hobby and their obsession overflows in their posting. I'm not singling anyone out and not saying everyone fits the bill. There are some good guys around here, contributing, helping, and having fun. At the end of the day, it's an 11 year old game with a fanbase of about 20 people circulating the forums. You'll have to get updates from Anthology. It's his project.

Im sad to hear you are taking a step back Blitz, as TBH we are all loving the updates and the work you and Anthology are putting into this. Please reconsider, however I respect your decision and its you life to choose what is best for you. :hi

Now I like to think all that "Bickering over Textures" has been resolved and people have moved on from that, certainly from being a member of NMZ and being the owner of OSR I feel this situation has cooled down and people have moved on.

I was a hacker way back in the day. Im saying this now because I dont want people to think I picked up "Hacking" over a year, cause I did'nt. I was a private hacker using Jamstubbs, and remember "Hackers Club". I registered there and stupid me forgot my login details, so just didnt bother. I had to learn everything myself by using Jamstubbs. It was alot more satisfying that way because I made my own mistakes and learned from them.

There are many great people in the NM Community and I for one feel that people only get protective of there work if it is abused to the point where there work is made to look retarded, by people who steal there textures for whatever, but again its all been resolved.

Anyway sorry for the long winded reply, and hope you reconsider and look forward to further updates from Anthology, as I am really pumped to see this save released Blitz.

Sincerley :B-)

This is a wonderful project. I hope you will change your mind Blitz, but it's your decision. I'm really fed up with this no mercy war around here, and I hope people will act one day as adult.

That is actually quite understandable, I probably even helped with this one, sadly.

The schizophrenic mindset of the No Mercy community has been infamous even before I joined any of these forums. I was warned by plenty of people about the circumstances surrounding it, and for awhile, I even let myself get swept away in it. Quite unforunate.

I think there are a few reasons why the No mercy community has come to a snail crawl of sorts, lately. The first is the trouble many people have to go through just to PLAY the game itself, you must swim in the sea of the elitists that don't seem to actually WANT anybody else to play the game. I don't understand it in the slightest, now, this doesn't mean that I'm not going to respect their wishes when it comes to using their work, but it sure means I'm going to and have approached my own personal work in a different fashion.

I figure, since I like this game so much (still on my top ten list, hell, me and my buddys still get 4-player modded No Mercy going on the weekends), I'll probably keep coming back to it, but for awhile a lot of people soured me on it due to the mindset that "this is OUR game". I don't like that, why work on a game hack/mod, if you don't want others to use it? Since I enjoy No mercy so much, I want as many people possible playing the game, that way, mayhap we'll get some new blood in the hacking/modding scene, and get even more new players that are just frankly grateful for the people that keep breathing new life into this game.

The whole texture argument is one of the oldest and most tiresome of the entire thing, to be honest. Though I don't use other people's textures (at least for the stuff I release) out of respect of the wishes of the original creators, in other modding communities it seems to be quite the opposite. Modders and hackers almost seem happy when other people add on or create their own edits and release them. I hope to see a bit more of that here in the future.

The forums wars? I do not understand them. We've had differences between a couple admins to another forum, but as far as I know, we never let that effect our members. I've actually had PMs from members concerning both forums, asking what I think they should do because they are recieving PMs from staff saying inane things like boycott this place. I tell them all the same thing: "Don't stop going there, please don't stop coming here". I'm 28, I don't have time to let it go to waste concerning myself with what someone else is doing on the damn internet.

I'm hoping that with our "come one, come all noobs" attitude that we've been trying to push here, No Mercy will get that strong, healthy fanbase it truly deserves.

Thanks for your hard work on this one, Blitz, this save is still one of the most anticipated things I've seen come down No Mercy's pike. :hi

I just want to add something and I know loco will read this, and this is trully a sincere comment.

When I became a NMZ member I already was close friends with R.R and CBV. Those two guys welcomed me into there arms and helped me so much with modding(Something im still trying to grasp).

Now I was not really a noobish member on NMZ (I hope not) and I was in the beginning stages of the World Elite save me and barskio are working on, still.......

Loco who is one of the elite modders on nmz, took the time of day to give me suggestions on the save and actually have the time for me. He gave me permission to use his codes for arena's on my save aswell as be a supporter of the save. Now when I opened OSR he was one of the first guys to register at OSR. He posted his World Tour previews here and guess what? Released it here along with his other awesome saves (CTL & Invasion that nWo Mark did with him). Now the point im trying to get and I have had a drink, is not all top tier modders are as bad as people think and they are legitatment great guys!!! Hell OSR was a newbie forum with a small following and guys like loco and others had faith in us! I am trully gratefull and thankful for all the credibility they have given OSR. My man barskio is another nmz guy who took chance on me and helped me on my saves. I think its time for a stop on negative nmz thoughts, and get to know the person before judging. I just love everyone, and will do anything to make someone happy. We are all a family, clique, whatever!!

Icco is another legendary modder who has faith in OSR with his amazing Legends save, R.R with his wonderful RAAW save, my wonderful friends in the SvR modding section.

Basically this is a thank you to all for everything, seriously I am trully thankful. I have met some amazing people and made great friends.

So Blitz my man, dont loose faith, we love your work bro.

Damn im tired now, typing all this. Time for another beer!!
