Hello all.

Seriously, I have scoured these forums for hours and tried every combination of every answer I have found and still I cannot for the life of me do this. I gave up in the end and decided to swallow my pride and ask for help.

All I'm looking to do is change a few of the arena textures for SvR 2011 on the PS2 but every tutorial I can find seems to be for the PSP, or is incomplete, or something goes horribly wrong.

I have so far extracted the BG.PAC with SvRedit v24, opened the file to edit (in this case BG.PAC.18.PAC) in xpacker, uncompressed c8.pac, opened it as a texture archive, exported all the textures, edited them and saved them in OPTPIX, imported them back into C8.PAC, and then.... nothing. No idea what to do next. tried injecting them (both the pac and bpe files) back into BG.PAC.18.PAC and it just crashes.

Seriously, anybody who can help will forever be idolized by me and my children and my childrens children.

Thanks.

you have to inject the new c8.pac with your textures into c8.bpe ,but both files must have same size..it is sure that a c8.pac with new textures is bigger than bpe if you have textures too great. if new pac file is bigger than bpe game will crash without giving more space in arc.file ..you have to work on your textures 'til you will have a c8.pac with same size of old c8.bpe

Many thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, even when I originally uncompress the files (the pac and bpe) they are different file sizes.

Trying to uncompress and then reinject the pac file also causes xpacker to crash.
I tried going through the process of extracting and then reinjecting the textures from the beginning without even changing the texture file at all, and x packer still crashes when im injecting the file back into bg.pac.18.pac.

I should probably point out it is x-packer which is constantly crashing, not the game... cant even get that far.

tried both 8.0 and 8.1, same thing with each of them.
This problem has been solved thanks to the help of the good professor, turns out it was a problem with either x packer or my computer... I blame windows 8 personally. Work around was to send them to somebody else or use a different PC when injecting the files back in.
