Today I Learned

This is really easy, if you learn something new and interesting, post it here, with references, so we know that it is real.

Today I learned that Mr. T would wear the gold chains from customers that got kicked out of the clubs he bounced, in an attempt to actually let the customer get the jewelry back without having to enter the club again. What a nice guy.

:jew: Almost all of the Universe is missing

There are probably more than 100 billion galaxies in the cosmos. Each of those galaxies has between 10 million and a trillion stars in it. Our sun, a rather small and feeble star (a “yellow dwarf”, indeed), weighs around a billion billion billion tons, and most are much bigger. There is an awful lot of visible matter in the Universe.
But it only accounts for about two per cent of its mass.
We know there is more, because it has gravity. Despite the huge amount of visible matter, it is nowhere near enough to account for the gravitational pull we can see exerted on other galaxies. The other stuff is called “dark matter”, and there seems to be around six times as much as ordinary matter.
To make matters even more confusing, the rest is something else called “dark energy”, which is needed to explain the apparent expansion of the Universe. Nobody knows what dark matter or dark energy is.

I had someone tell me that this ^ is proof of God, I couldn't hit them with my golf club hard enough. :B-) It is unexplained, dammit!

Today I learned that there is still a large group of people that believe the Earth is flat. No joke.

He didn't invent the internet, dude, he invented the World Wide Web, my man. Which is only about 16% of the actual internet. OSR isn't even on the world wide web, only sites that have a "www" in their address.

The internet, which started as the 'Arpanet' back in 1969, was actually about 4 different government programs, 2 in the U.S., one in France, and one in great Britain. ;)

Good message?

Screw that. Life feeds on life. Whether someone is eating a plant or animal, they are eating a living thing that doesn't want to die.

All things on this planet that are alive want to STAY that way. That's the secret of life.... NOT DYING. I get sick of people trying to make others feel guilty for something a natural as being an omnivore. They can fuck themselves. I like my leather boots. ;)

I meant it this way.
Good message- humane killing of animals in slaughterhouses.
bad delivery- act like a crazy bag lady and riot at a farmers house.
