The WWE has officially announced that Mr. T will be going into this year's Hall Of Fame Ceremony.

(This is not a spoiler as the news was revealed on the WWE's own website and social media accounts.)

The decision has already received a lot of criticism, despite the fact that Mr. T played a major role in helping WWE become an internationally recognised brand. The former bouncer turned actor became a pop culture icon in the '80s, being just as recognisable as Hulk Hogan himself. In 1985, Mr. T helped usher in the 'Rock 'N' Wrestling Era'. Mr. T worked alongside Hulk Hogan for the movie 'Rocky III'. The duo would work together again to promote the first ever WrestleMania. A scripted stunt would see megastar singer Cyndi Lauper jump the ring barrier to stop Rowdy Roddy Piper attacking Hogan. When Piper kicked Lauper away, Mr. T also jumped the ring barrier and confronted Piper. Those 15 seconds of Mr. T and Piper standing on opposite sides of the ring created a media frenzy.

Mr. T & Hogan teamed up to face Piper and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff in the main event of the first WrestleMania. This match was refereed by boxing legend Muhammad Ali. Mr. T would return to the ring at WrestleMania 2 and competed against Piper in a boxing match.

At one point, there was talk of inducting Mr. T, Hogan, Piper, Orndorff and Lauper in the Hall Of Fame together as a group. This would have been a second induction for both Hogan and Piper. The plan was also put in jeopardy when Mr. T refused to be included in the WWE 2K14 video game, thus removing the first WM main event from the '30 Years Of WrestleMania' mode. But with this annoucement, the WWE has clearly made a deal with Mr. T.

Mr. T had previously refused to be inducted because baseball legend Pete Rose was inducted before him. Mr. T felt that he deserved to be inducted in the Hall Of Fame more than Rose did because Mr. T had been in the first 2 WrestleManias and Rose had only been in one (I know, I know, Rose was actually involved with THREE WrestleManias).

Right now, the rumour is that there is only just one name left for this year's class. Some believe that a tag team or stable will be announced as there was not one inducted last year. Mr. T will be this year's Celebrity entrant. He will join Ultimate Warrior (Headliner / World Champions' Wing), Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Paul Bearer (Managers and Ring Staff Wing), Lita (Women's Wing) and Carlos Colon (Promoter's Wing).

Good. People that hate on the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame just don't understand how important the merge of pop culture and pro wrestling was to Wrestlemania and WWE's storybook success. Having watched it happen before my eyes as a young man, I simply can't ignore this important factor.

That's right bitches, I support the celebrity wing and everyone ever inducted into it.

People still don't understand that there is a separate wing, but to be fair, I didn't either for a long time. I don't think WWE mentioned the celebrity wing when Drew Carey was inducted tbh.

You're right Warrior, they did not mention it. They only mention it when a tag team or stable goes in now. It was because the Road Warriors went in as a group. Animal and Hawk were a tag team while Paul Ellering was a manager entrant.

Huh? I remember Kane's speech mentioning the celebrity wing when he inducted Drew Carey.

Kane is 7' tall, freakishly strong and is famous for stunts involving someone getting set on fire. It is safer to just let Kane do whatever he wants.
