"According to Microsoft: “svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that run from dynamic-link libraries”. Could we have that in english please?

Some time ago, Microsoft started moving all of the functionality from internal Windows services into .dll files instead of .exe files. From a programming perspective this makes more sense for reusability… but the problem is that you can’t launch a .dll file directly from Windows, it has to be loaded up from a running executable (.exe). Thus the svchost.exe process was born."

Now, this could mean that your problem is one of many programs you are running, I'm not too sure which one.

I DO see something that should be changed immediately, though. Get that damn Internet Explorer out the door and bust out some Firefox, better security, better apps, more stability.

What all applications are you running when this happens?

Alright, something is really wrong with your start-up programs, then. If you do not have CCleaner I suggest you get it immediately. It has a much better start-up manager than Windows. Google every program that is on the start-up list, find out which ones you need and which ones you do not.

I would also suggest you update your maleware and virus protection. My personal suggestion is malewarebytes and Microsoft security essentials. I know, I know, it is hard to believe that Microsoft has something awesome, but it is true in this case.

Both programs are 100% free, no trials or anything, MAKE SURE YOU RUN YOUR SCANS IN SAFE MODE. If you do not, you will easily miss something.

Let me know if it helps. I'd suggest running Malewarebytes first, it is a bit quicker.

I found out what i had it was

WIN32/ALUREON.H & after doing research on it , i found out it has not only the abilty to royally piss me off. But also to block any thing that tries to remove it :wall: :truce: i search EVERYWHERE willing to try just about anything & i ran across a program from Kaspersky called TDSSKILLER & so far it seems after running it my prob is gone & i am able to update windows again among other things. The progs cowboy recommended ran awesome and found a few things they got rid of perfectly (Thanks Bro) other than finding the "Trojan rootkit" as they called it they where blocked from removing it. But thanks to cowboy's help with this everything seems to be running great at the moment! :toast: :celebrate:
