Backstage heat is something that new wrestlers hope to avoid. There's guys that have been there for a long time. They're constantly going to see if you're going to be elevated above them or if you're there to replace them. Jinder Mahal becomes the latest new guy to receive backstage heat. There's a lot of people in WWE management that are not pleased with his performances thus far.

Source of Backstage Heat

The source of the Jinder Mahal backstage heat is that people are now admitting that he was called up much sooner than he should have been. His inexperience is now showing as he works house shows for WWE. Roster spots on the main brand are highly coveted. If you're there, then you better be ready for the gig. Since he's not, there's backstage heat on Jinder Mahal.

Solution For Jinder Mahal

WWE has already invested time and money in Jinder Mahal, so they can't give up on him just yet. No amount of backstage heat can outweigh his marketing potential with the people of India. WWE came up with a solution for Jinder Mahal. They have paired him up with the often overlooked but ultra reliable Daniel Bryan in matches at house shows in hopes that his knowledge and experience can rub off on Jinder Mahal.

Vince McMahon Support

Jinder Mahal has a little bit of a shield against the backstage heat. Fortunately for him, Vince McMahon is in his corner. The CEO is said to be highly impressed with his character and demeanor. He still believes that Jinder Mahal can help the Great Khali in building up more of a fan base for WWE in India, which has rapidly grown into a major market for the company.

Shawn Daivari Return

If WWE wanted to think outside of the box, then a Shawn Daivari return could be the solution. He could be the one to help alleviate the backstage heat towards Jinder Mahal. WWE could bring him back and have the two of them form a stable with the Great Khali. Obviously, they can't say that Shawn Daivari is from India, but they can modify the stable to consists of foreign heels. The group can work tag team matches, with Shawn Daivari, a very solid worker, carrying much of the workload.

Closing Thoughts

If I were Jinder Mahal, I'd learn as much as possible from Daniel Bryan right now.

For a while there, things were looking great for Alex Riley. He was the fresh face in the company. Management had enough faith in him to put him with the Miz, who was one of the hottest acts in professional wrestling at the time. Since he was a sidekick for a top level heel, everyone knew that Alex Riley would eventually be split apart and given a push as a baby face. If you've followed WWE closely over the last couple of months, you'll know that the push had been started. Unfortunately for Alex Riley, though, the brakes are about to be tapped since there's backstage heat on him.

Alex Riley Sloppy

When it comes to looks and charisma, Alex Riley wasn't lacking. He had the looks that Vince McMahon likes in his top level guys. When he was handed the microphone, the Virginia native showed his potential. He was comfortable as a speaker, and he was able to get quite a bit from the material that he was handed. The complaint on Alex Riley, though, is his in ring performances. Many backstage feel that he's a bit sloppy and could be prone to injuring those that he works with. That's where the backstage heat for Alex Riley comes from.

Alex Riley's Push

Going into the tournament match against Miz on Monday Night Raw, there was a growing concern backstage that Alex Riley might end up injuring his former mentor. The sloppiness of his work has caused that much concern backstage. The heat on him has many in management wondering if his push should be scaled back. Alex Riley is eventually going to get his big push, but for now, it might be best to slow things down and allow him time to gain more in ring experience.

Alex Riley Plans

Scaling back on Alex Riley's push isn't exactly a bad thing. Management can have him move down the ladder from the Miz. Simply give him a match each week on Monday Night Raw against a mid card or lower card heel (i.e. Michael McGillicutty, David Otunga, etc) every week. That should help him gain valuable experience. The writers aren't going to spend time coming up with stories for him, so the best thing to do would be to give him the microphone and hope that he can get himself over before each of those matches. With more seasoning, the backstage heat on Alex Riley should simmer away.

Closing Thoughts

It would be unwise for WWE to give up completely on this guy. He has the potential. He just needs a little more time.

I understand about Mahal, but Riley? He's good, he just needs a bit more time to improve.
