TNA Knockout Brittany is no longer with the company.
Brittany only had a 1-year contract which expired on Thursday. It is not known if she chose to leave, or TNA didn't offer her a new deal. She is already accepting bookings outside of the company. TNA have avoided offering new deals to bigger name stars in a bid to save money. Their logic has been that they could hire multiple young talents and build them into stars for the same cost of keeping an established veteran. Brittany's departure is ironic for two reasons. First of all, she was hired primarily as one of these younger stars replacing a veteran. Secondly, TNA sometimes try to save money at events (especially Impact tapings) by not booking un-established stars. As TNA tapes multiple episodes of Impact across 1-3 days. One missed booking can keep someone of television for a month. So it can be difficult for a younger star to get exposure, making it harder to get over.
Brittany had been involved with several story lines which were dropped suddenly due to her being under-booked. This often involved her having to change her appearance. Management were said to be frustrated with her because she was too nice to portray a believable heel. Her final story line saw her manipulating her boyfriend Samuel Shaw against his former friend Gunner. She will still feature in some Knockout-only productions as these were done before her contract expired.
Brittany recently revealed on Impact that she is a second generation star. She is the daughter of "TNT" Kenny G, and used to compete as Santana G, or under her real name of Santana Garrett. This was actually her second stint in TNA. She was originally brought in as the girlfriend/valet for Orlando Jordan. When Jordan's other valet and real-life boyfriend was released, she was let go too. It appears that she will continue using the ring name Brittany.
