I hope Austin is in condition to wrestle. If so - it's great news! Is it gonna be one appearance only or full time return?

There is no confirmation of him actually returning to the ring, just speculation. He has not wrestled in nearly 8 years. He is in great shape and Austin will always have that ring awareness. Due to not taking bumps for so long his body would have healed in someway, but his neck is very brittle. One bad landing etc and that could be him confined in a wheelchair. If a match with either Brock or Punk happened, it would have to be mat based and brawling.

Austin had 2 chances to get back in the ring, but HE rejected them. He keeps saying that he will not do it until he is confident that he can physically make it one of his best performances.

I used to hate Stone Cold and the Rock. But unlike Rock, Austin really earned his place in wrestling history, and then continued to give back. How many appearances has this guy made when a new film had been released, but he refused to mention the product? And ofcourse, Tough Enough was not all about him.

And to be honest, I don't think Brock should ever wrestle again. Let's forget the fact that he walked away after only 2 years (the Rock waited 5). When ever he talks about returning, Lesnar has no intention of putting ANYONE over, or making a full return. We already have the Rock and Hogan doing that. I suspect that if Lesnar ever stepped in the ring again, he will try to actually hurt someone.

I hate to admit it, but you're right about The Rock not giving back.

But trust me, The Rock WILL put Cena over at WM28. It's bound to happen. The Rock has absolutely nothing to gain from that match.

And if The Rock DOES win, then he's the biggest egomaniac alive and I sure as hell will stop being a Rock mark.

Why am I such a big The Rock mark? I watched him as a kid the same way kids these days watch Cena. Childish reason, I know.

The Rock was in a string of flops until he accepted the call from WWE. One appearance later, he is suddenly relevent in Hollywood once again. 'The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift' did poorly, and 'Fast and Furious' did only a little better. Would 'Fast 5' have done so well if Dwayne Johnson didn't come back?

No way. He is only marketable as the Rock. And the WWE keeps the Rock relevant. He has much to gain from this.

If the Rock was REALLY back to help, he would put over someone who wasn't already in the companys top 3.

But I understand your reasons for liking him. I am a Brooklyn Brawler mark!

Now that would be intersting. Cena has been main event status for years! Elevating a new commer like ryder would be smart business. Sure, Cena vs Rock is a kinda dream match, but helping t'he new talent and creating new main eventers is worth much more!

I agree, that would be much better. Or even:

Rock vs Dolph Ziggler
Rock vs Jack Swagger
Rock vs R-Truth
Rock vs Miz

Or...

The Rock vs Christian

Ryder isn't ready for the main event, they need to wait with him and let his growth be steady, not rushed.

I didn't like the Rock for a long time, but he really did turn into a fine wrestler in the end. His match with Jericho at No mercy is still one of my personal favorites of all time, as well as the Triple Threat he had with Angle and Taker. Rocky may not have gone through the indys as much most guys, but considering where his family came from it isn't too surprising.

Rock is sound in the ring, he's no great technician.. but he doesn't need to be. Rock is Hogan with actual wrestling ability. His placement is sound, his timing was for the most part fantastic, and his ability as a stick man is nearly in a class of its own. The Rock is money. He gave nearly 8 years to the WWE, I don't understand why so many people consider him a flash in the pan.

The reaction and excitement surrounding the Rock is proof, that like it or not, he will easily go down in history as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Silly finisher or not. He SHOULD come back for at least one more legitimate run, I think he owes the fans that much since he talks about it enough.

His body hasn't had a lot of the wear and tear the others legends from his time suffered. The Rock is still in fantastic shape, and can (I believe) still give us classic matches.

Hogan - Rock - Cena

Problem is, I honestly don't think Cena has the sheer charisma to get himself on the same tier as those guys. Maybe he'll surprise us all.... maybe he is about to turn into something very interesting to watch. At Piper's Pit it seemed that way, at least. I hope so.

The Rock should face Cena at Wrestlemania, it is good for business, but he should also strongly consider one more run, otherwise he won't be cemented as much as other legends, in my opinion.
