Now that Slammiversary is over, the annual Bound For Glory series will begin.

TNA will announce all of this year's participants on the next episode of Impact. But the rules are expected to be exactly the same as last year.

Whenever a BFGS participant defeats another participant in any kind of match, he will win some points. The points will depend on the type of victory he earns. Whomever has the most points at the end of Stage 3 shall be the number 1 contender to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at the Bound For Glory pay-per-view.

A pinfall victory will earn the winner 7 points. A submission victory will earn the maximum 10 points. There are also points available for winning by count out, no show or disqualification, but these will be confirmed. Losing by disqualification will incur a 10 point penalty. If anyone is unable to continue due to injury, suspension, firing, etc., then they will automatically be eliminated from the tournament in last place.

Each participant will face all of the other participants, one at a time, in singles matches. If anyone does not manage to face all of the other opponents at least once each, then he shall be removed from the tournament. Any points scored here shall be carried over into Stage 2.

The participants will continue as normal. However, any victories over other BFGS participants will earn more points. These may occur in any type of match. On occasion, they may be unique matches that offer a preset number of points for a victory, regardless of how it is achieved.

This is where is gets really complicated. The four people with the most points will qualify for Stage 3. Everyone else will be eliminated.

The final 4 shall be placed into a mini-tournament. These matches are also conducted under the point system. Regardless of the results of these matches, the person with the most points will win the tournament. If it is determined that the person with the most points is too far ahead to be caught up, he will be automatically declared the winner. In theory, it is possible for someone to win the 'Final' match, and not win the tournament.

Unless he loses the title before Bound For Glory, Bully Ray is expected to defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against the winner. As a result of his current status as champion, he may not compete in the BFG Series. Bully Ray was a finalist in both tournaments so far.
