We are sad to report the news that Lemmy Kilmister has passed away.
Lemmy was the lead singer of the iconic English band Motorhead. They are most famous for their song 'Ace of Spades'. Wrestling fans better know the band for having recorded no less than 3 theme songs for Triple H: 'The Game', 'The King of Kings' (aka, the Authority Theme) and 'Evolution'.
The cause of Kilmister's death is currently unknown and an official statement is expected tomorrow. He had been dealing with a number of health issues including hematoma. He had been fitted with an implantable defibrillator in 2013 to help correct an irregular heartbeat.
Kilmister, whose real name is Ian, was born in England. He was inspired to become a musician after seeing the Beatles performing live. Since then, he has been involved with a number of British bands, including volunteering as a roadie for the Jimi Hendrix Experience. He performed for a few bands before forming Motorhead in 1975. Despite multiple line-up changes, Kilmister was the only member to have been there from start to finish. In addition to releasing 22 albums, they have inspired a lot of bands including the Foo Fighters and Metallica.
We do not expect the news to be reported on tonight's Raw. The story broke very close to Raw going on the air. The news was leaked by friends close to Kilmister, including Ozzy Ozbourne.
Our thoughts are with Kilmister's friends and family at this time.
