Quote:

- Former WWE star John Morrison is scheduled to appear at Dreamwave Wrestling's event taking place April 7, 2012 in LaSalle, Illinois. He will only be participating in an autograph signing.

- Former WWE Diva Shelly Martinez created a photo shoot which was inspired by actor and director Eli Roth. Check out the exclusive photos and Shelly's personal message about what peaks her interest in horror among other things.

- The two dancers flanked by Brodus Clay in his Raw debut were WWE developmental wrestlers Cameron Lynn and Naomi.

Naomi finished second the third season of NXT while Lynn, whose real name is Ariane Andrew, was the first contestant cut on last year's Tough Enough series. Both performers have been appearing for Florida Championship Wrestling. [/quote]

Was interesting to watch the crowd reaction to Clay's new gimmick. If it goes on further that way - in not too far future WWE will have to pay people to make thy come to watch the show. Sad........

WWE has been severely lacking in believable heels, and Clay could have helped bridge that gap. He has all the tools to be a guy in that spot.

WWE just fucked up.... badly. Since it is WWE prepare for them to ride this angle for YEARS.

Is it just me or was his Entrance theme the same one used by Ernest "The Cat" Miller in WcW?

Edit: Nevermind It was

I'm happy with MANY things in the product, however, this rehash of Godfather/Brother Love is just not entertaining.

No-one thought that the "World's Largest Love Machine" Viscera would get over.

Or that the "toughest man in a dress" Vito would get over.

Or that Perry Saturn and his girlfriend Moppy would get over.

Or that Rikishi, an overweight samoan who rubs his exposed buttocks in people's faces, would get over.

Every single one of those was a re-hash of an earlier gimmick. But yet they demonstrated a time when the Superstar was most over in his career. The Funkasaurus Clay may work.

On a mid-card level? He could definitely work.

I'm just worried that once again, WWE doesn't have really anymore vicious heels with the exception of Kane and Henry, who are both pretty much on their way out. We need a new monster for guys like Punk and Cena to fight, because Miz sure as hell ain't a believable heel when it comes to a challenge against the champ.

I actually think Clay's new gimmick is funny. It even made me laugh while I was watching.

They gotta get these gals in sync. Either that or hire some actual dancers.

Well, that's exactly the point. People don't pay for a ticket to a wrestling show to get a stupid comedy instead of violent action and a foolish looking... thing instead of long time expected monster.

I don't mind comedic gimmicks, I really don't.

I think they dropped the ball with someone that could have been a serious threat to Cena and Punk.

WWE needs more believable bad guys. They are dangerously dry in that department.

They are dangerously dry in many departments. And the problem is - that they don't get it. No tag team division, no believable heels, no misterious exciting gimmicks, no monsters, no long lasting feuds, no interesting storylines...

I remember a few years ago that John Laurinitis paid for 3 developmental divas to learn how to dance. The plan was that they would become Flash Funk's personal dancers when he made his WWE return. None of the women were given ANY in ring experience.

As you may remember, 2 Cold Scorpio asked to be released from his developmental contract before he made his debut. Two of the divas were also released before making their debuts. The third, Brooke Adams, was later introduced as part of Extreme Expose.

Kelly's Expose had succeeded, but was not a major success. Kelly had little dance experience. The WWE believed that adding Layla (an experienced dancer and cheerleader), and a newly trained Brook would make the dance group seem more professional. But there was one problem... Layla and Brooke couldn't dance either! They became 'the blonde with the boobs', 'the brunette with the butt' and 'that black one who can do the splits'.

To me, this is just more of the same. I am glad to see Naomi finally made it to the main roster. Of all of the NXT season 3 contestants, she was the only one who was ready to make her WWE debut. But I have no joy in seeing Cameron Lynn on television already. She proved on Tough Enough that she had a very long way to go. And there is no way that she could have gained the experience she needs already.

In a way, I would like to see Brodus in a PMS style storyline. The idea of the PMS storyline was that Ryan Shamrock, Terri Runnels and Jacqueline were all Divas and therefore could not compete with the men. They needed a male superstar (Shawn "Meat" Stasiak) to fight the men for them. But here is how I see it going...

Brodus is all about Brodus. Lauranitis believed that keeping him off TV for so long would make him angry and more agressive. But instead, he will be the angry one because Brodus, is all about Brodus. As a result, Brodus (and his dancers) find themselves on his bad side. So Laurinitis wants to bury Brodus. But he struggles in finding anyone who can combat Brodus' awesome size and power. Either, Brodus will become angry and agressive due to Laurinitis' bad treatment of him, OR Brodus continues to get under Laurinitis' skin.

Certain heels (like Ziggler) will make it their duty to take out Brodus. But they will not understand what his dancers see in him, so they attempt to steal them from Brodus. But the dancers are all about Brodus too, so they are offended that the heels would even try. Cameron will want Brodus to punish the heels during matches. But it will not be enough for Naomi, who wants to dismantle the heels herself. But she isn't allowed because she is a Diva. This results in her attacking Brodus' opponents, costing him matches and causing a rift in the group.

But then again, I do not have much faith in the WWE's writers.

I was really expecting to see the return of Brodus with some real thought put into his character. Sadly, again, I have been left dissapointed and his new gimmick is a rehash of Brother Love, godfather to name a few!

Surely WWE needs a credible, new heel who can work there way up and be a possible World Champion? I think WWE has dropped the ball with Brodus. He could be a monster heel and someone like Goldberg who was pushed and remain undefeated and take on someone like Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Sure Brodus would lose, but if booked correctly he would come out a bigger star and have credibility.

One thing, i can understand Rikishi comparison, hell even Godfather to a point. But how the hell does someone compare him to Brother Love?, his character is nothing like Brother Love, who was supposed to be like a TV Preacher gimmick. Honestly he reminded me of Run-DMC 80s rapper deal.

You've got some really good ideas there. The only problem, (as I see it), is they would require a little effort, imagination (and especially) stick-to-it-iveness, all commodities that seem in rather short supply in WWE these days.

Much better to take the lazy route and use Brodus as comic relief. That way, if (and probably when) the gimmick fails they can simply cut their losses as they had precious little invested to begin with.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
