John Cena once worked with Goldberg in WCW.

John Cena had a cameo appearance in the WCW produced movie, Ready To Rumble. He plays the blonde trainee who sits down at the weight machine.

When Cena filmed the role, he wrestled under the name 'The Prototype'. He was being considered for a tryout with WCW, but it never materialized. After WWE bought out WCW, they took a look at some of the unsigned talents that WCW were considering reaching out to. This was how the WWE originally found out about Cena.

So that is another thing that WCW has ruined.

I'd say this is a case in point where WCW did the right damn thing. Let it be known, from here until eternity passes, that WCW, who put their world title on David fucking Arquette, were smart enough to realize that Cena sucks.

I was always entertained by WCW, I found their rings & sounds made moves even that better to watch, the contrast was great. Cena was great in the Ruthless Aggression era, he'd rap smack people I don't even know what he is today, a puppet on strings?

WCW was going to give him, and most of the other wrestlers-in-training that worked on that movie, a tryout. He was on their contact books when the company was sold off to WWE.

WWE would not have known about Cena if WCW had not have discovered him first.
