Ok, this is not a work. Its Jericho believing in his own hype and thinking because he is the "Best in the world" and thinking he is protected.

Obviously WWE are covering there asses, but it be interesting to see how many Brazilians are actually pissed off about the incident. Orkados does not seem offended.

He is a mark for himself and he should have called it a day ages ago.

i wasn't offended by that, but i can't tell about the other people, as in the arena, the only ones who were cheering for jericho was me and my friend..(i was cheering for jericho and punk, but it doesn't matter)
i don'tt think the guys from here really got pissed of, but if they got... you got to be sure that if wasn't the guys who was protecting him, he probably must come off dead that night...

I just want to know if he did it on purpose or if some dumbass WWE personnel told him to...

Heel character or not, don't mess with a nation's flag. It's degrading to the people, the history of it, and the nation itself.

wwefan, be careful with what you are saying.

Believe or not, Jericho broke the law. In very many countries, including the United States, Canada and the UK, disparaging the native flag in a public place is a criminal offense. And it can be seen as an act of inciting hatred AND even an act of war.

Jericho was just trying to get under the skins of the Brazilian fans, and he did just that. But he chose a bad way to do this.

And yes, WWE are just covering their asses. The timing of the suspension is convenient, but it is genuine.

And Jericho could see his WWE contract being terminated over this.

i think it have two possibilities:
the first one is that he wanted to show up as a heel character and did it at the wrong way.
and the second one is that it was something planned by wwe to suspend jericho and have something to explain why the contract is terminated when the real reason is that he's going in a tour with his band Fozzy
i even think that the cops that showed there to make jericho apologize for the crowd was a planned move, even knowing that his act was a national cryme

O dear god, why would they risk not being able to go back to a country they had never been to before & him commit a very serious crime. Just to have an excuse to let him have time off to tour with his shitty fucking band? Law enforcenebt in on it? give me a break. Jericho is a fucking douchebag, who because he is a mark for himself thinks he can do what he pleases when he wants. They should have put his ass in jail period.

take a look in what jbl said:
“After seeing reports of Chris Jericho in Brazil-it was what I suspected–Chris trying to entertain and be a heel. Apparently a Brazilian Flag comes into ring and Chris grabs it and kicks it (or something to that effect). Compare that to Sgt Slaughter burning the flag or all the crazy stuff that has gone on. This is nothing. EXCEPT we are in a new era and now that isn’t acceptable.

Chris did what most old heels would have done, he reacted and a decade ago it would have been loved for the heat. However, times change and we have to as well-Chris acknowledged this and apologized. Chris is a wonderful person and one of all time great entertainers-there was no malice here from what I see and know about Chris. A mistake was made and is being dealt with.

As far as being illegal, please, if done in an entertaining arena it is considered as such. Like saying you can prosecute Anthony Hopkins for cannibalism because of his role in ‘Silence of the Lambs’. I understand the arguements, I went through same thing in Germany and it was never considered a problem in Germany-only over the Internet and the Internet reporters. Chris’ intent was to entertain not insult anyone in Brazil or the great Brazilian fans.

Times change and for the better. Chris did what a ton of older heels would have done and he reacted. He is being punished and he apologized. He is one of all time greats and a great friend, old habits are hard to change but we must.

Times change and we have to change with it, and we all will.”

i agree with him, as many people already said me jericho is a very good guy but he become a totaly diferent guy in the ring and in front of the cameras.
and you guys are confunding two totaly diferent points.
just understand that the guy in the real life is one and his character in wrestling is another one. it's as me, i hate john cena SOOOO MUCH, but i hate his character not his person as he should be a good guy.[/SPOILER]

So using that retarded ass logic, if i kill someone and rip their guts out on national tv. It's perfectly fine if i am entertaining someone?

WildForce was not saying that kicking a flag is the same as murder. He was just pointing out that a crime is a crime, regardless of the severity of it.

I still like Jericho. But he should be thankful that the police saw it as a heat the moment thing, and believed his remorse to be real. A 30 day suspension is a very gentle punishment, considering that Jericho could have been imprisoned and be banned from re-entering Brazil.

JBL's comments left out a lot of information. When Baron Von Rashke and Fritz Von Erich did Hitler impersonations, they never did these things in Germany. They never did these things in the place where there is a law against it. And both men did these things to annoy Americans, not Germans. And when JBL and Guerrero did these things in Germany, people WERE offended. JBL lost his job with NBC because of the outrage he had caused. The German authourities considered asking the American government for permission to bring them back for questioning. Both men were lucky that the police decided to blame the actions on ignorance and their characters.

And when Sgt. Slaughter turned against America, he never actually did anything that broke American law. But he did receive a lot of abuse for it. People attacked him and his car in the street. He was banned service in restaurants and hotels because people believed that he had turned against America. This was in 1991. JBL cannot claim that no-one cares about these things and that we are too politically correct now. People STILL feel the same way about this stuff. Because it DOES matter.

Now if Jericho had kicked the Brazilian flag in literally any other country, then he would not have broken the law.

man, the real problem is that most of the brazilian don't understand wrestling...
we don't have a culture of wrestling and for most of people it's a new thing(about 1 year of tv transmition). i understand it as i watch for some time via the internet, dvds, but it's for me and just few others.
as said, he already did it in other countries like United States, Canada, Japan and Mexico, but all these countries have a wrestling identity, some history in it.
and as we don't have a culture of wrestling most of the people took this as an insult.
and i read that Jericho isn't banned in the country, but he won't come here again with WWE
