It absolutely is laziness, there is an importer and exporter tool made by HARDX. All you need to do is pull up a list after you open CH/CH2.PAC and import your characters, replacing the ones you don't want.

After that, assemble your files.

note : i'm not playing hctp this day, so my ch&ch2 is default
