CPU upgrade question on old Dell for emulation..

I'm upgrading an old junker PC for fun that has a 2 core 2.0ghz cpu..

so as far as emulation gaming goes, mostly N64, what would be better:

a core 2 duo 3.16ghz    OR       a core 2 quad at 2.83ghz

I figured I'd ask here...
