Crowd Textures?

Hi all,

I have just started messing around with modding arena textures for the first time. It seems like every arena preview I see here or on youtube either has the default crowd textures or another set that seems to be the standard unless one is actually modding the crowd texture themselves. I have downloaded about 10 texture packs so far plus the Modding Starter Kit and none of them included the crowd. Am I looking in the wrong place or what?

Download a full project that will have the textures you need for sure

Unless I'm misunderstanding what you are meaning by 'project', then that it was have I have been doing. I have being going through this subforum, finding an arena pack that looks like it has updated crowd textures, downloading it, extracting, and looking through the texture. Every time, I only see the updated aprons and entrances. Maybe I just haven't download the right one yet?

Not even that.

All of plugins that support mods have a texture dump option.

Use it.

it's simple, you have to know where the textures are dumped, then, use the dump option.

If in the process of dumping you start a match, the emulator will start extracting every texture the game loads, thus inlcuding wrestlers, arenas, interface options, etc.

If the texture isn't shown on screen, it won't be extracted.

So, among arena textures dumped, there should be the crowd textures.

Locate all of them, resize them to 200% or 400%, depending on your plugin try to group them so your animations won't fuck up.

RIght, I understand how to dump textures and apply updated ones. I've just now started really trying to do anything with it within the last day or so. I've actually been having a pretty good time experimenting with it. Hell, I was up until 4am last night just because I got on a roll (which may partially explain why half of what I said in my last post didn't make any sense). When, I got down the crowd textures though, I thought, "Wow, this part looks tedious as hell. Maybe I can just an existing set as a template." If the answer is "Suck it up and don't be lazy," then that is fine also lol. I just saw the same crowd in a lot of different previews and videos and thought that those particular textures were fair game.

On a side note, I have to say that is pretty cool that so much does still happen in the modding community for this game. I have been using No Mercy for a creative project on-and-off for a long time now mainly for the amusement of my friends, and I am just now realizing how much better it could have been had I been modding textures the whole time.
