This is still a WIP. There is a TON already completed for this save. We currently have a short but VERY complicated to do list.

Here's what this game is currently missing
 - A handful of move hacks for various wrestlers
 - Finalized Match settings (matches need to be coded in)
 - Make a more efficient menu (too many textures used, causes eventual issues)
 - Music/Sound injections
 - Expand roster
 - Code in challenges (these challenges you set yourself)
 - Code in PPV mode, Tourny
 - Maybe More I'm not thinking of


Most, if not all, movesets are completed. Currently one attire per wrestler. All arenas are completed. 

We have just opened up a Patreon service for those who would like to support our efforts in creating this project and many others in the future.
You'll find that some Patrons will have early access to Projects when release dates are set, some even have CURRENT access to included projects.
REGARDELSS, ALL PROJECTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR EVERYONE EVENTUALLY. Patreon is to help support the production of our team projects.

That patreon is fine? I say it because of those Nintendo policies that when you see a FanGame you eliminate it if you see that you receive economic income, I remember a Smash Bros. Hack where you asked for 10,000 USD to make the game in both physical and virtual ... oh our mods are out of those policies?

I’ve recently got the hang of editing the n64 midi files. Meaning changing the ROM songs. Here’s a WIP ECW menu theme. Just need to replace the samples for a different feel.

Update on the project.

We’ve decided to combine the two ideas of Backlash and ECW. Meaning, the ROM itself will be customized for ECW, AKI style. Injected textures, music, attires, blah blah. In addition to this, it will include HD textures. The best of both worlds. Still a bunch of coding for moves, menu, matches, story. But less coding and no need for an .fla

Because of this, we will be starting from the ground up. BUT should still be moving forward steadily, since most info is already set. We are cleaning up a TON of things from what we’ve learned over the years.

This will also implement a bare CAW and the backlash match listings. Except replacing HITC with Barbed wire.

All matches will earn you money. Even exhibition.

Unlockables will be purchasable in a remodeled mall.

Multiple story paths will be available.

Season mode is being worked on as well.


We’ll shoot updates as soon as we have some worthy of previewing. Lots of back-end coding happening at the moment.

Wow! This looks to be very promising. Take your time on the project, fellas. I know that when it comes out, it'll be a masterpiece, much like Showdown 64, WCW:FTB, etc.

This project is evolving. None of these previews contain texture replacements via graphic plugin or GS codes. This is all strictly done via ROM hack and VPW Studio. 

This will be released in an EXTREMELY EARLY BETA FORM. ONLY for the few people that were Patrons in the past few months. The Patreon service might be up again in the future, but is currently down due to a few complications.

Just wanted to show that this project still lives and is better than ever. Once the entire project is complete, we will include an HD texture pack and enhancement codes (for matches and fancier menus)
Again, none of these preview contain GS codes or textures via graphic plugin, this is solely the ROM with an enormous amount of hacking/modifications.

At the moment it’s pretty bare. All arenas, most movesets, most attire parts are all still NM. Once I have a handful of accurate players I’ll upload to the patreon section. I’m not sure when, maybe a week or two.

I have good news and bad news.

 Good news. I’ve been working extremely hard on this and can upload a TON of previews. Brand new menus, characters, Shop menu, modded backstage, moves and more. And it’s all ROM hacked. Meaning zero codes. Just the ROM.

 Bad news is that I’m 100% positive that at some point this game will be reproduced on a cartridge like what happened with VPW2 freem edition and sold without my permission. Not that I think any of the patreon backers would do so on purpose but it’s inevitable. I’m really unsure if I will ever publicly release the game due to that. The thought of this eventually getting into the wrong hands and benefiting off of my hard work absolutely kills me. As of right now, I’m unsure of where this project will end up other than in our team members hands. I’m hoping I can find a way to prevent this from happening so I CAN release it. I just don’t have an answer yet. 

With that being said, here are a ton of previews.

Everything you see here is ROM hacked.
The main menu background changes between 4 different images. Changes occur every 1.5 minutes.

You can now earn money via Exhibition matches (including ladder, ironman, battle royal)

Some menu items have been moved around.

SD Mall has been altered a bit.

Backstage hallway has been altered. Still need to re-texture it and replace closed door with interview area. Also displaying the new clock, spirit meters and roll animation (this lets you perform rolling thunder as RVD manually. Roll, senton).

In addition to this, the backstage area has been arranged differently. ECW will only use about 3 stages for actual stage areas.
Because there are leftover stage areas, they will be turned into new backstage areas. 

I have already re-navigated these paths although they need to be heavily modded.

Wow, just wow. I really hope you are able to figure our a way to release it without concern of it being reproduced for profit without your consent. Damn, as a guy that's followed the scene since gamesharks and parallel ports I'm ecstatic for your progress but saddened by the possibility of no release. I totally understand where you're coming from and support it. This is the best point in the history of the community as far as what all of you guys are doing collectively at this point and as an old fan I appreciate it all. Hopefully some solution to your concerns can be figured out at some point, because it would be a shame for another literal work of art to not be seen by all. Thanks again, even the updates have been entertaining for me.
