Well I was wondering what you guys use to play your old skool games? I myself use my Emu just for WWF No Mercy hacking/modding etc, while I use my consoles to play my games. I have a rather huge collection of old skool video game consoles (The list I already stated in a previous topic) and just rather play on my T.V than a emu..

I have just played Streetfighter 2 turbo on my SNES with my buddy who has popped over, and its a blast. I just find gams back in the day delivered on all fronts. Sure Next-Gen consoles have bad-ass games, but I just loved the era of the 80's/90's for gaming..

Emulator has a big advantage over consoles. Such as:
- Turbo button! (good for grinding in JRPGs)
- ROM hacks and translations (you can play these on the original hardware but that requires some tools)
- Cheat editor (all emulators have a built in cheat editor and even let you make your own codes)
- You can use your own joypad
- Texture packs for N64 emulation (can't do this on the hardware)
- Save states (useful if you want to get past a difficult area without having to start all over again)

I started using EMU after my 360 crashed and burned on me. Wasn't trying to dish out for a PS3 so I started doing EMU's and ISO's. I was able to find games I hadn't played in years or never played at all. The great thing about using EMU is that I have been able to play games that I have wanted to try for years but were only made for Japan.
