It'll be a failure when it ceases to exist, that's like saying John Cena is a failure because so many people dislike him.

Sure, the network has only reached about 75% of it's target, but it's still making money, man. If it was such a monumental failure it would have been pulled by now, but it isn't.

In ten years when we're celebrating the network's 10th anniversary you'll see what I mean.

I feel the presence of a ban hammer coming.

Anyway, the network did not fail. The marketing failed, they harp on prices instead of the benefits of getting the network. Not helping that they put PPVs there for free when you have the network. Seriously?

PPV's being on the Network isn't a problem, I'm sure it would suck to ask people to pay 10 dollars and then another 60 to watch their PPV. The problem is exactly what you just said, they do too much of the "OMG ITS $9.99!!111!!1!!!!" and not enough of actually advertising the content on the Network. A few months ago, they would talk about the upcoming PPV on Raw and then talk about moments that happened from that PPV's history that people could rewatch on the Network. THAT'S how you sell something.

Plus, to be brutally honest, wrestling fans are CHEAP. I made up this saying about wrestling fans and paying for stuff: "If it's online for free, you gets no money from me." This is why wrestling torrent and streaming sites are so popular. BUT, wrestling fans do like to pay for things when the product is good. And they don't want to pay for the Network because the current WWE product just isn't good. I mean it could be good, and it should be good, but it isn't. They can't sell the Network on nostalgia and cheap cheap prices alone, THE CURRENT STUFF SHOULD BE GOOD AS WELL. That's why they're stuck at 750k subscribers, and how they have not gotten the clue yet is beyond me.

Meh, in my opinion, NXT is probably worth the $9.99 alone.

All I want to add to this is NXT:Evolution is the best damn thing to happen today....

On on a different note. Has anyone seen how over and awesome AJ Styles is these days since leaving TNA? He has had 5☆ matches with pretty much everyone.

Also what does people think about TNA going to Destination America station? I hear in the states not many people pick up that channel.. Fortunately us Brits can watch it every week for free on Challenge. Also... British Boot Camp was so fake. It seemed the whole thing was scripted from the beginning. Especially the whole Grado vs Al Snow feud. Still enjoyed it though.

When I'm catching pieces of NJPW,
I'm enjoying the Bullet Club, New Japan knows how to do the evil invader stable, and this is no different, I'm glad Kenny Omega's in it to bring some comedy, happy Aj got his creative freedom he wanted, its crazy that he's the 60th IWGP champion (according to NJPW)

I only saw the 6/8 man tag match, it felt so restricted and generic but holy shit did I forget how quick Al Snow can be.
I want to enjoy TNA, but it keeps having the same issues,
I'm glad the fans in attendance are getting back into the matches.

The problem of having the PPV for free on the network is a very, very big problem.

1. Cash flow issues.

Less revenue for the company, the company earns quite a bit on PPVs and it is one way to judge pay for the wrestlers. How are they going to fix that?

2. Competing with your current partners.

I guess it's safe to assume that the networks gets a cut when PPVs go on (plus advertisers who wants to advertise their programs on PPVs) The way Vince is doing is essentially trying to cut away from networks and providing content on their own. Let me see, it's like...a shampoo you bought in Walmart. The shampoo company set up their own online store and selling the shampoo cheaper. As Walmart, I will be pissed as hell. You are spoiling the market and you are cutting away my revenue. I suspect that is why they have problems launching the network in UK.

Watched the show twice in English commentary, but I still recommend the regular one. I mean Jr and Striker were good but nothing compares to SCREAMING JAPANESE MEN!!!!!!!!

Great topic suggestion.

Right now, Ultimate Warrior's final promo always gets to me. But in honesty, one of my absolute favourites of all time was Stevie Richards promo at ECW Barely Legal. The music and the Blue Meanie appearances are annoying distractions. But talk about passion from unexpected places.

[/quote]It's so strange, because a lot of his promos were known for being so out of hand and nonsensical, but this one was bone-chillingly accurate.

Unexpected?

Richards is one of the most underrated wrestlers along with guys like Al Snow.

Sure they were sidekicks or gained titles in mainly non main eventing Hardcore matches, but if you watch any of their promos or matches they are outstanding ring leaders,
Controlled the pace, catered to the crowd, rarely botched (Snow rarely, Richards sometimes) and more importantly made their opponent and tag partner look great without trying to shine themselves up.
And outstanding Promos, they are in my top 10-15, easily.

The Al Snow vs Chris Benoit match from the Hard Knocks DVD was one of my favorites on that collection. Snow could seriously go.

I'm going to say something controversial. I don't mean it out of spite, it's just an observation.

Ultimate Warrior was hated, for a decade by alot of fans and work colleagues apart from his Little Warriors.

People hated his ring work, his professionalism, his unwillingness.
Even his non-wrestling politics due to him making homophobic and generally being against equality.
In his videos and blogs, he slowly matured but who honestly watched them?
I know I did.
He wanted to redeem himself, he wanted to try and give back.

I know he made an empowering speech at the end,
But read it, he is complimenting you, the fan, saying that wrestlers live and die for you, of course you're brain is going to love it.

Hell he was talking about his failing heart, so you're brain thinks about your heart, so it "pulls at you're heart strings" because you are concentrating on your heart beats.

The way he paused between each breath made you're lungs try to slow to the same speed as his.

His promo was empowering, it empowered you're body.

Someone being able to empower you shouldn't make them an forgiven angel.
It's why human's have rulers who only really care about themselves.

He spoke from his heart for 2 years talking about his inner conflict, about his choices and mistakes yet people only talk about his final paragraph.

"I didn't like him but now I'm a big fan."

People are fickle.

Sure, people are fickle, but ya gotta at least admire Warrior for silencing pretty much all his critics with his final breaths.

I always liked the guy, I bought the Self Destruction DVD, disagreed with much of it, I just wanted his WM 6 match. :(

He gained me as a fan of his character as a kid, and regained it when he wanted to redeem himself.
His goal was to regain his voice and have a positive impact on the business.
And he did that.

I know this goes off subject slightly.
I was disappointed when read shit like...
"I was shocked that Robin Williams had depression"
Even though there was tears in the back of his eyes every-time he spoke without being one of his characters.

It's the same with the Warrior,
Every time he spoke, he spoke from the heart,
The thing is when it's from just the heart, if it's not backed up by the brain, it's harder to understand, but the message was still pondered.

...
People show signs when they are going to die soon, be it suicide or a natural death.
Some people die the same way they live, the thing that killed them has always been their demon, their internal struggle.

Its just that the masks and facepaints come off and they're honest with their faults but still try to smile.
Just trying to help other people even though their bodies already giving up.

Then, their curtain closes.

I wasn't putting down Richards. I was always a huge fan of the guy, and Al Snow too.

Up until Barely Legal, nearly every single one of Stevie's promos fit neatly into 2 categories; 1) putting over Raven, or 2) goofy parodies of wrestling in general. His Barely Legal was very different. I don't recall him every really doing anything heartfelt before that. That's why I said it was unexpected.
