Since his return in January, WWE staff have suspected that Jericho would be taking time off during this year to tour with his band, Fozzy. Jericho himself has confirmed this, but there is no official word on when this is to happen.
Jericho has been expected to leave after each pay-per-view before returning at Night of Champions (September). But each time, he has been involved with a new story line that started immediatly after each pay-per-view ended. Right now, he has begun a feud with Randy Orton. But he is scheduled to do appearances at both Fozzy gigs AND WWE shows throughout July and August. So it is unclear when exactly Jericho is meant to be leaving, but WWE staff keep expecting it to be soon.
With the huge push that Jericho has been receiving, it is not surprising that Jericho has been in one of the main events at every pay-per-view this year. But what is surprising is that Jericho has lost every single one so far:
* He and Randy Orton were both touted to win the Royal Rumble. Jericho and Orton finished in the final three, but the match was won by Sheamus.
* Jericho was touted to win the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber. Again, he finished in the final three, but he was removed from the match after being knocked out. This counted as an official elimination and a loss.
* Jericho faced CM Punk for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XXVIII, and lost.
* Jericho faced CM Punk for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules, and lost again.
* Jericho was involved with the Fatal 4 Way for the WWE World Championship. Again, this match was won by Sheamus.
In his 'End of the World' vignettes, the main character was a young boy who talked like Jericho was also called Chris. But the videos also starred a young girl, who was referred to as "She". Jericho has finally cleared up the mystery around her identity.
Jericho insists that there was NO female character intended to be involved with his return. She was merely added to the vignettes to make them feel even more creepy than they already did.
And he also confirmed popular belief that his 'End of the World' comments related to the Mayan calendar theories.
