Is there a tutorial somewhere that can teach me how to use these mods and such? I have Project64, I have the No Mercy rom, I can play the original just fine, I just don't know what to do with the stuff I'm downloading from here.

For instance, I dl'd WWF vs The World, but I have no idea how to run it.

Please don't ignore me, please don't flame me, just point me in a direction where I can teach myself and not be a pain in anyone's ass.

Thank you.

Moved this into it's own thread. That one is not for questions and answers, but an index for useful resources.

Don't worry about flaming, nobody is gonna do that as it's against the rules.

Any chance you could send a screenshot of what files come with WWF vs The World? I think I had a copy of that mod but I can't seem to find it.

I appreciate your offer to help. I've gotta fix something in my settings, though. I didn't get an e-mail notification of your reply.

No idea which files would be of help to you, but there's a subfolder with the wrestlers' names & moves. I'd post a pic, but it's asking for a weblink?

Hi, I'm the creator of that mod.

Everything you need to make it run is in the Mod folder.  The other folders (Movesets and Documentation) are helpful resources.  The Movesets folder (which I think is the subfolder you're referring to) is just there so that people can reuse the movesets in case they're more interested in the moveset codes than in playing the actual mod, but that folder plays no role in running the mod.

If you start Project64.exe and then open the ROM (not included with the download; you just use the ROM you already have), everything should work.  The only thing that you would have to change is the location of the textures folder in the settings:
-Go to Options->Settings, and under Options->Directories, you have to change the location of the textures directory so that it's the Textures folder (that's a problem with all mods running in Project64; for some reason the default location is $AppPath\textures\, which is incorrect).

Getting the music to play (rostertool.exe) requires downloading CheatEngine to determine the correct offset to put in the settings.ini file.   to I thought there was a tutorial somewhere on this site explaining how to get the right offset for the rostertool, but I couldn't find it anywhere.  I found a video tutorial, though:

Let me know if you have other questions.
