I agree with the above, but I honestly don't think that Hogan-Bischoff gave the title to Storm because he deserves it.
I honestly think that this is just Hogan trying again to make himself look good. He recently and controversially claimed that Bobby Roode wasn't ready yet. The longer they keep the title off Roode, the more it would appear that Hogan is right. Hogan also said that Storm had the look. Again, the longer Storm retains the title, the more right Hogan appears to be.
Remember, Hogan is a guy who used to phone in sick when WCW Nitro or Thunder ran against a major sports broadcast, but would turn up the next week just as healthy as before. The ratings would drop because people were watching the other sporting events, and then pick up the very next week. Hogan used this as PROOF that he was the one drawing the huge ratings. And the Turner administration kept raising his salary to match this.
I want Storm to have a length run as a World Champion. But let's be honest, the one time that TNA pushed him as a singles star, he had what it took to be in the main event. But there was something always pushing against him, preventing him from being in main events or title matches. And whenever he was in Beer Money or America's Most Wanted, his tag team partner was always pushed as the up-and-coming star. Why, after all these years as a pernament tag team performer, would the company give him a major World title BEFORE having him do a proper singles run?
I want to see Storm succeed, but not if Hogan is the one benefitting from his run.
