David Ferrier, better known as Jimmy Del Ray, has died.
Within the last few hours, his family have publicly confirmed that he had died on Saturday. He has suffered a heart attack. He was only 52.
Ferrier has competed in a number of companies, but is best known for being one half of the Heavenly Bodies tag team with Tom Prichard. He and Prichard are 5 time tag team champions across Pennsylvania Championship Wrestling, Smoky Mountain Wrestling and United States Wrestling Association. He has also held singles titles in Florida Championship Wrestling, Future Championship Wrestling, Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South and SMW. He never won any titles in the WWE.
This has been a particularly bad year for wrestling-related deaths. We have already lost Mae Young, Nelson Frazier, Jr. (Mabel, Viscera & Big Daddy V), Sean O'Haire, Ox Baker, The Great Scott, Ultimate Warrior and others.
