Quote:

John Cena appeared to have injured his left arm during his match with Brock Lesnar at tonight's Extreme Rules pay-per-view, and hinted that he may be leaving for awhile. After defeating the former UFC heavyweight champion at tonight's event, Cena took the mic and addressed the crowd.

"I'm probably going to get sent home for speaking when I'm not spoken to, but I think I'm headed home anyway," Cena said after the match. "And if I know my boss, he's going to kick me out the door, but he's going to do it on air, so I hope this is for the world to see."

"Chicago, I know this is CM Punk's town, but above all else, this is a wrestling town. Tonight, you people were supposed to see the extreme. I've got no left arm, I'm tasting my own blood... and I'm damn proud to say it was in Chicago, IL."

"All of us -- good guys, bad guys, big guys, small guys -- all of us give everything we have every night for you guys. And if I gotta take a vacation, so be it. If I'm going away for a while, I just wanna say thanks for one hell of a last ride. I feel great tonight, even with this Chicago crowd that may or may not like me. I listen to that and I think, if I'm going out, I wouldn't want to do it any other way! Thank you guys, go home safe!"

While heading to the back, Cena told officials that he couldn't move his arm, but he knows it's not torn. [/quote]

Suddenly you're comparing Cena beating Lesnar to real-life?

I love this thread.

I liked last night's match, but it wasn't a great "professional wrestling match". Cena deserves a break, that boy has been working his ass off for a really long time.

Plus, he's finally getting cheered, again. Him leaving will only help the pop he gets when he returns.

@El Guapo and @RagNaRoc I've been watching wrestling since I was born. I'm not new to wrestling, nor am I uneducated on it. I watch MLW, OVW, NWA, etc. and all the classic good shit. RoH, Chikara, all the new good shit.

Dude, I know what good matches are. I just enjoyed the Cena-Lesnar match, and it was a lot better than you made it out to be. They did CREATIVE spots that have never been done, and fucked themselves up just for our enjoyment. Neither man bladed (to my knowledge), and they took full on smashes and shit. There were submissions (shitty ones, but submissions), brawling, moderately technical wrestling (reversal chain at the end), high flying, and everything in between. Even if it wasn't the best shit ever, they tried to please everyone, and as a picky fan, I think they did a damn good job.

I never said it was the best match ever. It was good compared to all the shit WWE has been force feeding us.

My dad left us when I was a baby so my mother raised me on her own and to pay the bills she worked with a circus as a trapeze artist and when she was busy or working she would leave me with the tough men of the circus who would fight local men for money in a ''wrestling'' match at the time I didn't know it was a work and the local men were part of the act but I was instantly hooked and have had a place in my hart for wrestling ever since.

@Calvanater, my problem with your comment wasn't that you supported/disrespected anyone. My problem is that very inappropriate phrase you used to describe it.

And also, you used the work "sick" to describe something good and something bad. A little consistency please?

But my earlier comment was directed to @kg. Comparing professional wrestling matches to real-life examples. Really?

I just dont get why give cena the win if he was leaving for a while anyway? Not really smart booking. He was legitimately handed his ass by Brock all match and won with 2 offensive moves??? Not smart IMO, Lesnar should've destroyed him clean, Cena wouldve been gone for a while and big time rematch could've happened with a rejuvenated Cena out for revenge maybe even going back to his thuganomics gimmick. It would've given Cena a fresh start that he so badly needs. Besides that it was fun to watch i enjoyed the whole PPV and marked out like a little bitch when Daniel Bryan told the ref he had til 5 (hence why I made the T shirt). Jericho and Punk delivered again but Daniel Bryan and Sheamus stole the show. I only wish they worked AJ into the match somehow to keep that story going further. Now at over the limit we see Punk vs Bryan...wow. Hope they listen to Joey Styles at Stamford and make it an Iron man Match
