Former WCW wrestler and booker Kevin Sullivan has finally spoken out about the false murder allegations that continue to haunt him.

Over the course of one of the most controversial weekends in wrestling history, Chris Benoit murdered his wife Nancy, and their son Daniel, before killing himself in July 2007. For those of you who are unaware, Sullivan was the first husband on Nancy Benoit. Fans who are in denial about Chris Benoit's actions continue to create conspiracy theories to clear Benoit's name. One of the most persistant and most illogical theories was that Sullivan killed all three family members and framed Chris. Some idiots continue to demand that the police question Sullivan over the murders, even though Sullivan was in a different city and had no contact with the Benoits for years.

Sullivan had chosen not to dignify the lies publicly until he appeared on Jim Ross' podcast recently.

During their time in WCW, Sullivan wrote a storyline in which his real-life wife Nancy was having an affair with Benoit. To make the storyline seem more realistic, he had the pair pretend to have an affair in public. The pair bonded and Nancy would leave Kevin for Benoit in reality too. In this interview, Sullivan admitted that he had been plauged by untrue rumours that he was having an affair with Nancy. Then on the day that the Benoit family were found dead, he immediatly received accusations of committing the murders himself. The accusations became so intense that Sullivan wasn't able to go to Nancy and Daniel's funeral to pay his respects.

Sullivan admitted that the accusations bothered him until Nancy's mother and sister offered him reassurance.

Sullivan believed that he was accused of murder because Benoit's fans do not want to accept that he was a bad person. He said people like this were "so sick" and called it "idol-worship". He said that they tried to make excuses for Benoit because he was a "great, great, great, fabulous wrestler". Sullivan said that we will never know what caused the tragedy, but questioned the intelligence of those who believed these conspiracies.

Jim Ross mentioned that David Benoit, Chris' son from a previous marriage, is an aspiring professional wrestler. Sullivan didn't think this was wise. He feared that someone would David and the tragedy to "do something stupid". He made a hint at Curtis Axel and how he changed his name (Axel's real name is Joe Hennig, and he is the son of "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, who died shortly before Joe entered into the industry).

Sullivan pointed out that Jim Ross phoned him on the day that the Benoit family was found dead and showed support to him. Sullivan added that Ross and Theodore Long were the only two people in the industry that showed sympathy to him.

Sullivan made the surprising statement that it was Nancy who suggested the affair storyline in WCW. He knew at the time that it was a bad idea because he hadn't spent much time with Nancy over the previous year, and Benoit's current wife was pregnant. He said that if he could redo the whole thing, he would never have supported the idea in the first place.

He admitted that he still struggles to come to terms with the tragedy, but accepts that it is much harder on Nancy's and Chris' families.

Sullivan said that he was the one who decided to make Benoit the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He invited Benoit into his hotel room to tell him the news and that he deserved it. Management tried to talk Sullivan out of the idea because Benoit was shorter than he was. He mentioned that J.J. Dillon, WCW Senior Vice President Bill Busch, Mike Graham and current champion Sid Vicious all told Sullivan not to push Benoit. But Sullivan insisted on doing it. Vicious only agreed to do it because of his respect to Sullivan.

Sullivan hinted that he regretted giving the title to Benoit only because Benoit left WCW the next day. He knew that Benoit, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero and Perry Saturn all wanted to be in the top-tier within WCW, but it could never happen due to who all was in charge at the time.

He had made Benoit the World Heavyweight Champion and Guerrero the United States Champion. He claims that he had planned to make Malenko and Saturn the Tag Team Champions. He had discussed their pushes with all four men, but while he wanted to do it, he was unable to persuade "the beancounters in the North Tower. Sullivan noted that the four men were making between $250,000-$300,000 a year, but Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Hulk Hogan were being paid over $2 million a year.

i dont know if he did it or not but for him to say "do not want to accept that he was a bad person" is kinda ironic considering he is a satanist, like blokes don't go out and do that out of the blue like that unless there is something seriously wrong with them, was what he did good or excusable NO but was he in his right frame of mind i certainly don't think so

good read rev :)
