Kurt Angle recently did an interview with the Otaga Daily Times in New Zealand. He talks about his regrets in leaving the WWE for TNA Wrestling.
It should be noted that Angle did not quit the WWE, but was fired. It was the WWE that decided to end his tenure, and not Angle.

No. Impact Wrestling has treated me very well. They gave me time off when I needed it, and they paid me a lot of money to come here. Do I miss the Wrestlemania crowds and the Royal Rumble crowds? Yes, I do. It was hard to walk away from that. I felt, for my family and for my health at the time, I had to seek a reduced schedule. I had a painkiller problem, and problems with my marriage, and I kind of took it out on Vince McMahon. He was trying to make me the guy, before John Cena came along. I just didn't do the right things. I blame myself for that. You live and you learn, and I'm happy with TNA.

Angle was released in 2006 after a string of unprofessional behavior. Angle had developed a wrestling style which left him picking up serious injuries frequently, and refused to adjust to a safer style. He would frequently lie about his well-being, causing the WWE to book him for tours and events when he was injured or still recovering. He was also abusing painkillers and chewing tobacco. While he still passed every Wellness Policy testing, he ignored essential health advice. He harassed one particular writer, sending him incoherant and sometimes distressing emails and text messages on a daily basis.
In Kurt Angle's last WWE match, he had lied about having recovered from a previous injury. And in this one match with Rob Van Dam, Angle sustained 3 more side-lining injuries, and also hurt his opponent.
