Quote:

- TMZ has updated their story on WWE pulling Randy Orton from The Marine 3 after Marines complained about Orton receiving a bad conduct discharge in 1999 after going AWOL twice. Cpl. Mike Vinn told TMZ:

"On behalf of all the Marines from Aco 1/4 98-02, that were outraged to hear about Randy Orton portraying a Marine in the next movie "Marine: Homefront", I'd like to thank the WWE for pulling Orton from the role when they heard about his disloyal service to the United States Marine Corps. It shows respect for not only the unit I had served in, but for every person that has ever defended this nation. Thank you WWE."

- Matt Hardy was scheduled to be in court on Monday for his 2011 arrests but got a continuance until May 14th.

- PWInsider reports that there are already WWE talents not too happy about Brock Lesnar returning, likely for similar reasons they weren't happy with The Rock coming back.[/quote]

I can understand why they dislike brock coming back. Well, he was a guy that suddenly wanted to leave when he's the company's face. That's pretty damaging for the company as the fan base might be shaken and thus losing revenue. Rock wise, wwe had already planned for him to go for the movies. It's kinda different.

It's not that different. In fact, it is the same.

Performing in a set is much easier than performing on a live stage, never mind in a wrestling ring. Most guys on the roster are beating themselves up 240 days a year for a fraction of what the Rock is being paid. But yet the Rock is currently their biggest star because of... why exactly?

Brock has only made one appearance, and already he is one of the top guys.

There are dozens of guys who are killing themselves to make a living. But guys like Brock and Rock are simply walking into the major pay cheques and the brightest part of the spotlight. It has to be frustrating for them.

But as I said before, I am happier about Brock being back because their are plans to have him wrestle multiple matches. Unlike the Rock, Brock is limited due to health issues. But at least he will be getting into matches.

Its the business. Its like this everywhere. Those guys should be happy there in WWE, when some guys would do ANYTHING to just be signed by them.

I agree. They SHOULD be happy. But only a small minority are working under good conditions. I mean fewer than usual.

I understand your point about appreciating where they are. But the whole idea of large names bringing in more money is not as great as it sounds. People are buying tickets and pay-per-views to watch the big name stars. But the extra money is not shared out among the wrestlers. A wrestler's pay cheque is based on two things:
1) A set payment for the match OR a set payment listed in their contract.
2) Merchandise and DVD sales which features them specifically.

A mid-card wrestler does more work than some of the larger name stars, but will only see a fraction of the money that their fellow employee will see. And as long as a mid-carders TV time is reduced, or he is repeatedly buried by a big name star, few fans will want to see him. Quality of matches doesn't make that much of a difference (if it did, then why have John Cena and Randy Orton spent so much time as main-eventers over the last decade).

But people in the WWE still respect Orton and Cena smply because they are working full-time. While they are not as talented, they are still putting in the work. The other wrestlers would be less negative towards Brock or Rock if either one was also working a full-time schedule, regardless of pay.

Good point, but I think that the roster had reasons to be more angry with Lesnar, I mean, Lesnar in many interviews had bashed WWE and it's schedule. It is a known fact that Lesnar has a disdain for WWE, or even wrestling. For Rock, he was advised to do something else by Vince so that the WWE name can travel further (I think, not very sure about it). And when he found that he enjoyed it, he left. And whenever he's needed, he's back. Lesnar, in the mean time, gives off the feeling that he just came back cause he needs to make a living.

While I disagree that Rock should have won the match against Cena at WM28, One thing's for sure, because of Rock Vs Cena, the buyrate of the PPV went through the roof (not that HHH vs Taker didn't infulenced it). Those talents that participate the PPV should be happy as they managed to get a bigger paycheck. For those that didn't, well...

Sales were through the roof? The official pay-per-view buy numbers have yet to come in, and the numbers that the WWE have been using are estimates at best. And this is the first WrestleMania in over decade that still had tickets left during the final week. If official figures come back with similar results, I will acknowledge that.

And McMahon supported Rock because Rock had decided to go away. It wasn't the other way around. And the Rock only returns when interest in his movies drops (you can check this out, dates and figures will back me up).

But you may be right about Brock. Most of his complaints have been about the travel schedule, which most superstars and divas genuinely hate too. But he has said some very negative things about many of the bigger name guys. And no matter what people think of him, he has now failed at 3 of his dream careers. So returning to the WWE could indeed just be an attempt to have some kind of career.

I remember reading on PWR or PW Torch that the sales were much mucg better than WWE expected, so I may be wrong on that.

And ah, I didn't know that Rock decided to leave instead of the other way around. I think Rock's periodic appearance was a win win situation for WWE and Rock back then. And you have to admit that Rock's career didn't plummet as bad as Brock Lesnar's to the point that he HAD to come back to WWE when interest in his movies dropped, and also, during that period of time, WWE was dropping in popularity.

And Pffft. Just read that Rock's profile is moved to Alumni section. Yeah. Not leaving my butt. -.-
