New to playing mods

Hi I'm new to playing mods (or trying to), and I discovered Wolfpac_69's WCW Mayhem mod which looks awesome & really want to play it, but despite reading bits about what to do & then trying, I'm lost. Can someone help please? Many thanks.

(P.S = The rice Plugin has changed and sometimes I have trouble Myself so I go search for rice Beta and BMGlib myself)

I did read that thread, but I have a couple of questions about it:

1-what does it mean by the 'executable file'?

2-does it mean I need to put the whole "WCW Mayhem" folder in the No Mercy folder under "hires_texture"?

I'm a complete novice of how this works, so any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi the download is set go you should be able to load and play the executable file is the file with the pj64 logo on it just ensure that the plugin is set to mudlord and the load hi res textures box is ticked

I use Rice Videob Beta and usually it works for me

Did you read all the instructions, Were any errors made?

I followed the instructions but crashed before reaching the start screen. Tried it multiple times since, and the closest I've got is the main menu screen, but it was all just grey blocks before it again crashed, wish I'd got screen shots but I'll post the 2 I did get.

Show a screenshot your cheats. I don't think you needed to put that cheat in, it should already be in Mayhem, you just have to have the codes selected.

Turn green screen off. Many of those cheats do not need to be activated. I'm not sure which ones, though. I would shy away from the edit hacks and ones just labeled "cheats".

This is why I made Showdown a 1 click game when it came to cheats.

I turned those off now. Does this look right? This is gonna sound funny, but how do I make the wrestlers appear?

You will probably need to turn the emulator off and on, again. Make sure they aren't selected when you turn it back on. It's going to be a lot of trial and error.

Restarted and de-selected cheats were still unselected. Should the select screen be that small?

Untick matches and camera. I can't really help you beyond telling you to de-select a box and restart. I wouldn't have camera hacks or match hacks selected, though. You still haven't shown a full screencap of what cheats you have selected so helping you is difficult.
