Instructions and Downloads

Instructions:
- This mod is only compatible with Jabo's Direct3D8 1.7.0.57-ver5 plugin (The default Project 64 2.1 video plugin).

1 - Open the "Showdown 64 Version 6.exe" file, there, you should see the following screen, where you can choose where you want to install the game.

2 - Now you wait for everything to extract.

3 - After it finishes extracting, go to the folder that contains the game, and there, open Project 64.exe.

4 - On Project 64, press Ctrl + T or go to settings.

5 - From there, go to Directories, and keep everything the same, except for the textures directory, from there you need to find the same textures directory from Step 3. Close Project 64 and open it again and your textures should be working!

- Make sure the "Showdown 64" box is ticked in your cheat file (in your emulator settings) and nothing else.

- This mod is only compatible with Project 64 2.1. and 1.7.

- Make sure you double check your directory paths if the textures do not appear.

- If that doesn't work, make sure you have run Project 64 as an administrator.

Some of the codes previously used for the wrestler select screen cause a glitch that sometimes teleports wrestlers upwards while they are outside of the ring. In order to fix this glitch, delete the cheat code named "Showdown 64InterfaceSelect ScreenPortrait Size and Placement" from your cheat menu. Next add the following two new codes:

I think that I was finally able to find out the cause of most of the freezing issues. Narrowing down the conflicting codes took a pretty long time. The reason why the freezing was so difficult to fix was that a few different codes contained the lines that would cause the freeze. In order to fix your version of the save, either disable or delete the following cheat codes:

I think I finally figured out how to fix the random distance glitches that are most noticeable when wrestlers are performing grapples. In order to fix them, replace the code named "Showdown 64Keep OnReset Distance" with the following code:

Q:	How do I switch between the different promotions in the arenas? I do not see the 30 arenas that are previewed.
A:	When you are on the arena select menu, press either C-Left, C-Down, or C-Right.

Q:	Why are there not as many match type choices as there should be? I do not see any option for the Deathmatch.
A:	READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Make sure that all of the Showdown 64 cheats are checked in the cheat menu and that nothing else is checked. Also, if you already had an earlier version of Showdown installed, delete the old texture files before installing the new ones.

Q:	When I start the game, my emulator's screen turns black and does not do anything else. What happened?
A:	READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Make sure that all of the Showdown 64 cheats are checked in the cheat menu and that nothing else is checked.

Q:	Why are textures not loading correctly? All of the wrestlers have weird attires.
A:	READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Check your directories to make sure that they are correct. In addition, make sure that all of your settings are the same as the ones in the Imgur album located in the emulator instructions.

Q:	Why does the back of the wrestlers' heads look weird? Also, why does the shorts of some wrestlers like John Cena and Brock Lesnar look glitched with some parts of the texture missing and they look shorter than they should be?
A:	READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. You need to patch your ROM in newer versions of Showdown 64.

Q:	Why are there glitches in the championship and survival modes?
A:	Both championship mode and survival mode are not really supported in Showdown 64. This is because of all of the moveset and match hacks. There is not really any way to fix this at the moment.

Q:	How do I get outside in the Hell in a Cell Match? Also, how do I climb its sides?
A:	You are not able to do that yet.

Q:	How do I make and add my own custom wrestlers into game?
A:	We have included a creator's kit for you in the downloads section if you would like to create your own content.

Q:	I made some custom content (wrestlers, arenas, hacks, etc). Am I able to contribute to the mod?
A:	Anyone is welcome to help out with the mod. If your work is good enough and if it is able to fit into the game I would gladly try to get it into a future update. However, simply submitting your work will not guarantee that it will make it into the final version.

- The Full Intros hack is unstable, we don't recommend using it, but if you do, don't wait for the character to taunt in the select screen, as it freezes the game.

- The Menu Stretch hack gives you a nice customized menu, however, we don't recommend using it, because everytime you try to access Smackdown Mall/Edit Mode with this code, the game crashes.

- Couldn't get the Arena Select Change cheat to work at all, either.

The 2002 Smackdown Arena can be found in the "DLC 04" folder, I believe you can replace the original Smackdown Arena with this one, just copy and paste the following:

1. DLC 04\Arena Select to Plugin\GFX\hires_texture\WWF No Mercy\Interface
2. DLC 04\Smackdown to Plugin\GFX\hires_texture\WWF No Mercy\Arenas
3. Add the "Smackdown Arena Code" cheat to the game.
