As of right now, the WWE does not plan to make any more ECW based DVDs.

WWE Home Video distributed 'ECW Unreleased: Volume 1' several weeks ago, and have received rather low sales. The DVD features archive footage of lesser known ECW matches, but the matches mainly feature WWE alumni, and people who have been the centerpieces of previous ECW DVDs.

The internal feeling was that interest in the original ECW is finally dying down. And if this current DVD did not sell well, then there would be no demand for future releases. This means that there may not even be an 'ECW Unreleased: Volume 2'. Joey Styles confirmed on Twitter that the release would be dependent on Volume 1 sales.

The WWE gained the rights to all World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling footage in 2001. Ironically, the biggest selling DVDs produced by WWE so far have been based on their long-time rivals, even outselling WrestleMania pay-per-view DVDs. And matches from the old WCW and ECW tend to be viewed online more than any other on the WWE back catalogue.

With this being said, plans to include ECW footage on any other DVD or Blu-Ray release seem to be over as well. However, plans to produce more WCW DVDs may still happen.
