I've been watching the old ass ECW tapings from like 1994 and WWE network and the music man, was it always that generic loop? I'm talking about the montages between matches and promos. Entrance music was a given obviously. Figured more than some of you guys traded tapes or actually saw them on TV. I was however still in pampers so jah.

I imagine that most of the theme tunes have been replaced on the network. For the most part, ECW used to use actual chart music for their theme tunes (Metallica and the Prodigy were extremely popular). A small minority had their themes paid for.

The WWE has to pay royalties for much of that music to so many different artists. Not to mention some of those songs have non-PG lyrics. So WWE prefers to add their own music over it. For example, I think Mysterio now uses his old WCW or current WWE theme in the edited ECW footage.

He's correct, a lot of the music has been changed.

No clue how much production music was on Hardcore TV, only that the PPVs had none. Knowing Heyman, though, I'm sure he gave zero fucks and didn't use any production music on that show at all.

The hardcore tv tapings had music, at least Eastern Championship had music, you can tell cause the music they put over it is way louder n clearer than the mic work n other promos. I haven't made my way to the point where they dubbed it Extreme etc.

Didn't Heyman got covers for chart music so he can use them on TV? I remember he got Justin Credible's and Taz's music played by other bands.
