It may seem like we have reported this story several times this year, but there is said to be a lot of anger towards Randy Orton right now.

Company officials, including Triple H, have become frustrated with Orton's childish and unprofessional behavior. Orton has been complaining for almost 2 years that he wants to return to being a heel (villain). But officials refuse because he is more marketable right now as a babyface. The WWE has a shortage of established stars who are babyfaces. And this is not something that is likely to be resolved any time soon due to the high number of people leaving the company, and other established stars who are dealing with ongoing injuries. Orton is considered to be an established star, and he is needed to keep attracting ticket and merchandise sales. If Orton turns heel, he will lose much of his younger fan base, and therefore the company as a whole will lose out.

Orton has been telling fans at live events and on Twitter that he wants to be a heel. In addition, he has started doing "heel-ish" actions during matches, against the instructions of WWE officials. Since returning from suspension earlier this year, Orton keeps swearing at fans, and refusing to co-operate with babyface tag team partners.

The WWE particularly want to keep Orton a babyface right now due to the forthcoming 'The Marine 3' and '12 Rounds' movies. As Orton stars in the latest '12 Rounds', they need for him to be a fan favourite to help promote the movie. Orton was originally planned to be in the latest 'The Marine' movie, but the decision received a negative backlash from the US Navy. A spokesman claimed that they felt insulted that Orton would play a marine in the movie, noting how he was dishonourable discharged from the US Navy. The WWE are hoping to improve Orton's reputation.

Orton wants to be a heel because heels tend to have more control over the direction of a match, and can adopt a lower impact style.

Orton has openly complained about not being allowed to use the Punk Kick. Orton has repeatedly injured opponents by kicking them for real, usually by accident. Cody Rhodes once very narrowly escaped injury when Orton broke the protective face mask he was wearing (which also indicates that the move was badly off-target).

Orton was also suspended for the 5th time after violating the Wellness Policy. The WWE have struggled at trying to hide that this was his fifth violation, and not his 2nd. But throughout the whole time, he told fans on Twitter that he had the testers had made a mistake, even though this was disproved.

According To What I know,
Shortly After The Face Turn Of Orton, he said That He Likes to Be Heel, Because He Can Be Who He Really is, That The Heel Orton is The Real Orton!
It's Always About Himself, Orton Never Cared about anyone but himself!

The way I see it is Orton is being paid to do something that he loves, and we all would love to do. He is being paid handsomely and earns substantial royalties from video games, movies etc. WTF is he moaning about? Sure, he is more effective as a heel but sometimes you need to do what's right for business and not for your own self-centred self. He is obviously as arrogant in real life as he is on TV. Playing a heel must be easy for him.

Also, he should be fucking grateful he still has a job. If someone like a Daniel Bryan broke the wellness policy as many times as Orton has he would have had his contract terminated.

[/quote]from a business standpoint, i don't understand why they keep putting all their eggs in one basket to begin with concerning orton. hes overrated and legit does his best work as a heel. Not to mention, hes a crybaby who HAS violated the policy 5 times. I just don't understand why they keep insisting on ORTON being their top face. Its like booking As far as merchandising goes, CM Punk is all over the cover of wwe 13 but hes a heel.

I can honestly see both sides of it...

I don't understand why they continue to push Orton as a star. Yes, he made it. But that was in spite of so many things. We have too many mid-carder who will never be main eventers because Orton and Cena has already squashed them in pay-per-view matches.

And the issue isn't that he does his best work as a heel. The issue is that he can do LESS work as a heel. For example, the RKO is a popular move that excites audiences and hurts Orton. The Punt to the head is a despicable move that proves no risk to Orton (despite how many people he has legit injured with it). Orton does not have to use such energetic moves, or sell so many opponent attacks, if he was a heel.
