New details may have emerged on the Sin Cara story.

We reported earlier that Hunico competed as Sin Cara on this week's Raw. Luis Urive Alvirde, the original Sin Cara, is currently in Mexico recovering from an injury. Urive noted that he was not in Oklahoma when Raw happened.

According to one source within the WWE, Urive is done. The same source claims that an official decision was made to have Hunico play the Sin Cara character from now on. The WWE are still very keen on building a new Mexican star, and they were determined to make Sin Cara that star. But Sin Cara is failing to get over with audiences. Alberto Del Rio is more marketable as a heel, which is why he is juggling the heel persona with the Mexican hero characteristics. However, Sin Cara's merchandise sells well when Urive is out with an injury. This has led the WWE to believe that there is still hope for the Sin Cara character. They are particularly keen to make Sin Cara work as Rey Mysterio is close to retirement.

It is no secret that Urive has been a major let down. Urive was the first signing by Triple H since Triple H got promoted to a management position. He has struggled greatly at adapting to the wrestling style used in the US and is said to put little effort into trying to learn. He has reluctantly been learning English but has made very little progress. He also publicly criticised the WWE for announcing that he had earned a Wellness Policy violation just months after his debut and claimed that he didn't understand what he was really being suspended for*.

* Hint: The real reason for his suspension had something to do with him testing positive for prescription only painkillers, and then refusing to provide the prescription he insisted that he had.

Urive will be most famous for botching a major move in almost every single match that he had. Urive was said to have a very negative attitude towards this issue. He used to tell people that his mistakes were unimportant as no-one was getting hurt, even though he injured himself several times. Not to mention other opponents. He was recently sidelined after an allegedly finger injury. He performed a dive through the ropes into Alberto Del Rio outside of the ring. The injury happened when Urive's hand collided with Alberto Del Rio's heavily bruised face. Urive told the referee he was not physically able to continue, even though WWE medics were later unable to find anything wrong with him.
