Just to recap some things coming out of RAW Monday night ……….
– It was announced on RAW that Big Show vs. Jack Swagger will take place on tomorrow’s episode of WWE Main Event.
– Batista vs. Sheamus was revealed on RAW as the main event for this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
– Next week on RAW, the rest of the WWE Intercontinental Championship number one contender tournament will take place. Advancing in first round matches on Monday night were Rob Van Dam, Cesaro, Sheamus and Bad News Barrett. Squaring off next week in the semi-finals will be RVD vs. Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Bad News Barrett.
– John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt will take place at Extreme Rules in the confines of a steel cage as noted earlier. The stipulation was agreed to by Cena and Wyatt on Monday night’s episode of WWE RAW.
– Also set for but not yet confirmed for the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view/special event is Daniel Bryan vs. Kane for the WWE World Heavyweight Title and Evolution vs. The Shield. The reason Daniel Bryan is facing Kane out of nowhere on the pay-per-view is simply due to the fact that Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista are all tied up with the Evolution vs. Shield match. It was announced on RAW two weeks ago that Randy Orton and Batista both have “rematch clauses†for the WWE title so it’s likely we’ll see Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan vs. Batista at future WWE pay-per-view/special events. Of course, WWE could always change course and completely “forget†about that sort of thing as they often do.. Following the Shield vs. Evolution match at Extreme Rules, Randy Orton and Dave Batista would be “freed up†so it makes sense to do the singles matches with Daniel Bryan then. This would also allow WWE to begin the build to Roman Reigns vs. Triple H at SummerSlam. They could also do Dean Ambrose vs. Orton or Batista … or … Seth Rollins vs. Orton or Batista matches …. or a tag-team match featuring Orton/Batista vs. Rollins/Ambrose while Reigns feuds with Triple H. As you can see, there are LOTS of options WWE can go with and my guess is that they’re booking things on a week-to-week basis as they often do so they don’t even know what they’re going to do at this point. We shall see.
