The word coming out of Raw is that the script was writing to insult former stars; specifically CM Punk and Jim Ross.
Triple H is still mad at Punk for walking out of the company. As we have reported so many times, Punk got frustrated with the direction the company was taking, Vince McMahon repeatedly going back on promises and WWE constantly refusing to let him take time off to heal from his injuries. It was reported that Punk wanted to headline WrestleMania just once before officially retiring later this year. However, when Punk found out the plan was for him to face Triple H at WrestleMania XXX instead, Punk was livid. As Triple H is no longer a full-time active star, putting Triple H over would be pointless and would not advance the company in any way. While Vince has been trying to convince Punk to come back, Triple H feels insulted by Punk and doesn't want him back.
The rumour is that his girlfriend A.J. Lee is being punished to send a message to Punk. This is believed to be the reason why Nikki Bella (John Cena's girlfriend) was made to look strong over A.J. There was also a rumour that A.J. will be losing the Diva's championship to Natalya* and kept off WrestleMania.
*Note: I do not know how Main Event went, and I have not read the spoilers. All I know is that A.J. was advertised as defending the Diva's championship against Natalya for several days.
Jim Ross is being punished for telling an embarrasing story about Vince. During the show, JBL openly praised Vince's colour commentary skills before insulting J.R. It is no secret that Vince uses JBL to insult people on his behalf on television or pay-per-view. Jerry Lawler was clearly uncomfortable with the segment due to Lawler and Ross being real life friends.
Ross claimed (during a radio interview) that Gerald Brisco was feeling ill one night. Vince then farted in Brisco's face, but "followed through". Vince was unable to change as he was about to go live on air. Ross claimed that Vince had a noticable brown stain on his pants, but the camera crew were too scared to focus on it.
