I'm not liking it so far.
The original point of the RoboCop was not to fight crime, but to save money. One RoboCop could do the work of six human police officers, and would never take a day off for illness, holidays or (most importantly) go on strike. So his ability to fight crime was heavily hindered by his corrupt bosses.
But then again, I was a major fan of the entire original trilogy. And the Total Recall and Dredd remakes were such let downs.
There was once a robber in San Antonio who went on the run from police. He did out in a cinema which was playing the original RoboCop. He got so engrossed with the movie, he didn't notice that everyone else in the room had been replaced with genuine cops. He was arrested as soon as the lights came up.
