Right on, man, thanks for the prompt reply. I was unaware of that.

So, if I wanted to replace the textures of a WM 2000 ring / arena with one from Revenge, that would be the same concept of dumping and replacing with wrestlers, right? That has nothing to do with hacking. I'm a big '90s gamer, so I have nostalgia for WM 2000 and Revenge.

No Mercy is great, but I'm awful at replacing textures. I've tried to make Roddy Piper in No Mercy by using his Revenge textures, but it just ain't happening. I'm way better with Revenge and WM 2000 dumps and swaps. Thanks for the info!

Hey, I've been attempting to use the Offsetter to change JUST the StyleAI for wrestlers OR mix-and-match -- using an StyleAI from one guy and the Moveset from another -- and I've gotten less than ideal results...

Has anyone figured out the correct method to do this? Or are you limited to only being able to copy a wrestler if you use the matching StyleAI & Moveset from the same wrestler?

Thanks,
Sean

You can mix or create your own style AI. You need to make sure you're replacing the right wrestlers style/AI

I believe I've copied over the correct address. I've tried this multiple times and each time I don't use the same StyleAI/Moveset combo with a wrestler, it causes the wrestler to have a very strange/incomplete moveset.

i.e. First, I just changed Minoru Tanaka's StyleAI (used Nagata's; left Tanaka's moveset alone), and while his StyleAI was changed, this caused the broken/weird moveset.

But when I went back and added Nagata's moveset along with his StyleAI over Tanaka, it worked perfectly.

Any ideas?

This might be due to replace an Hybrid Wrestling style by a Normal Wrestling Style. It sometimes make the wrestlers moveset broken.

The movesets are based on the fighting style. If you replace a shoot fighter's fighting style with someone's who has a hybrid or wrestling fight style, their moveset will be broken/weird. You need to make sure the fighting style matches the type of moveset. You can't have a shoot fighter with a wrestling moveset or vice versa.

Can I use step 1 only to move a caws edited moveset bin over another wrestler. Instead of having to do step 2 and the edit all code. Meaning I wouldn't have to get I to a match to dump the data?

@marillmau5. You'll need to go into a match even if you edit a caw.

@KWG. It should be possible. I think WM2000's moveset data is uncompressed, so you can hex edit the data directly. I'll need to post each wrestler's ROM address.

I'm playing with WM 2000 recently and when it comes to modding/hacking it's criminally underrated, there's almost nothing, not even the basics.

It's my eventual goal to document as much as possible for all the AKI games.

Thinking of WM2K , I need to make unlimited slots like I did for NM and VPW2 for that game.

Hello, can I create a moveset over caw 1, open the offsetter loading the data of the rom and then just use the .bin address to put it over misawa, save. then in game i technically edited misawas moves with out having to use nemu or dump codes.

If not, how can we dump the bin files of a created wrestler so i can use the offsetter with out needing to dump data from nemu.

Im hoping one day to see a program that reads the caw data from the rom and makes a fresh bin dump, and then i can just drag and drop that over a wrestlers name and the program does all the work and saves.

I tried to open the .bin file to maybe edit the moves within but that didnt work either.

this is so discouraging already :(

if the reason is that nemu doesn't work just keep using nemu. I bugged that emulator for countless hours and one day it gave to me

Can you upload your nemu folder, i cant get it to work to save my life and i finally decided to give it a go.

Edit: Got it to work. I had to put nemu64 in my c drive and the rom in the roms folder specifically. then I had to use jabod36.dll to make it work. Finally the controller is wonky and only uses one pluging and cant be changed. I had to use L, R, Triangle and Circle for my up, down, left and right. Because it wont read the d-pad, or either analog stick with out having a fit and getting stuck going left right forever. Now time to test the moveset hacking... :)

Annnd the offsetter program is set to private. cant Dl it.
