<table><tr><td>Russo issues statement on TNA departure

Vince Russo was scheduled to participate in an interview with PWInsider next Monday to discuss his departure from TNA Wrestling. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, however, decided against doing the interview and issued the following statement to the website regarding his TNA departure:

"Despite the continuing rumors, speculation, and hearsay surrounding my departure from TNA Wrestling, in an effort to set the record straight, I was not fired, terminated, released, or let go from the company--it was my decision to walk away, and from there the separation was mutual, amicable and professional.

"It simply makes good business sense that where someone of my talent and ability was not going to be used to their capability or capacity, that a parting of the ways was inevitable.

"In closing, I'd like to thank my fellow writer and friend, Matt Conway, for giving me purpose, my friend and brother, Jeff Jarrett, for hiring me, Dixie Carter and the entire Carter family, for keeping me employed, but, more importantly, every man and woman in the locker room for giving me the opportunity, and ability, to work in the professional wrestling business for the past twenty years. Without their blood, sweat and tears . . . I would have not been able to support my family and make a living. My greatest loss by far is leaving them behind.

"And truly, from the bottom of my heart, I wish TNA all the best in their future endeavors.

"PS: I couldn't help myself with that last line, but I truly DO wish TNA all the success in the world!

"Peace, Vince"</td><td>

Just as I suspected, he was actually too good for TNA... :p

Nice to see he's not dining on any humble pie as the ego continues to soar above the bull. ^o)</td></tr></table>

Not only did Vince Russo single handily give us one of the greatest eras in pro wrestling history, he also was the only mother-fucker with the balls to try things no one else wanted to do.

I'm sick of people honestly claiming he isn't a genius.

Yeah, didn't McMahon have the WWE title and win the Royal Rumble? He's always stealing Russo's ideas.

Oh give me a fucking break, Wildforce, I've yet to see you even try to say anything bad about McMahon. Fuck you.

You obviously are not the dude I met when I first started coming here. Anyone who can't see that everything we enjoy in wrestling today can be traced back to one visionary isn't someone I fancy a conversation with.

Noob.

No, you're too lazy to learn a damn thing about professional wrestling. Not my fault.

In WildForce's defence, he does respect that visionary!

WOW!

In all honesty Russo did have balls in the attitude era and did make it trully one of the great era's of professional wrestling. In fairness though, Russo had to go threw Vince Mcmahon to get the seal of appoval of feuds, storylines and what not before they got the green light, while in WcW he had the run of the mill and didnt have to ask anyone for shit!

Ego springs to mind and because of his success in WWF he thought he could carry it to WcW, but there was no Vince Mcmahon there to correct him, and by that time he must have thought he was a god in proffessional wrestling.

I see both points by Phil and WF.

Russo + Mcmahon = Superb job. One generate ideas, one filters it.

Russo and Mcmahon on their own....not so much. But usually Russo had more worse ideas. Not that Mcmahon doesn't...Katie Vick anyone?

I remember that Russo did an interview with RF video shortly after his first departure from TNA Wrestling.

He was asked about the storyline in which Stacy Keibler announced that she was pregnant. While Dave Flair was the only person willing to take responcibility for the child, half the men on the roster wanted the world to know that they had impregnated her. And for some strange reason, Keibler herself could not shed any light on the situation.

They had a first blood match between Buff Bagwell and Dave Flair, with the loser having to consent to a paternity test. Why Dave didn't do this test willingly is anyone's guess. But Russo insisted that the storyline was so genius that fans could not appreciate it.

The storyline never came to an end due to the sale of WCW. Russo claimed that every potential father would be eliminated down to two possibilities: Dave Flair and Ric Flair. A further revelation would reveal that DAVE was the child's father the entire time.

HOWEVER, Ric Flair would do some more research. While he would be unable to prove that Stacy's unborn daughter was his, he would prove that Stacy herself was his daughter! So Stacy would have had intercourse with her biological father AND brother... and was now pregnant with her brother's baby. Worse still, they would learn that the unborn child was already developing some kind of deformation.

It's exactly because of bullsh*t like this that this company is going down the toilet.
