It is well-known by now that Jim Ross was fired from the WWE due to an incident by Ric Flair. As pathetic as this seems now, the details make things even worse.

Ross and Flair were part of a press conference to promote the WWE 2K14 video game. Flair is accused of "taking over" the event and focusing most of the attention on himself and his stories. Almost everyone who was there were entertained by Flair's antics, and felt that he made the entire event a success. The other participants and even the game developers were happy with his actions, especially considering... It was only the WWE officials that were upset. Ross was hosting the event. WWE officials felt that Ross should have had more control over the event, and stepped in when Flair started "acting up". Insiders knew that Ross would be fired over the incident, and this happened earlier this week.

Especially considering what? The fact that Flair was still mourning the sudden loss of his son. Reid Flair, who was in training for a career in TNA, died suddenly during the Summer. He died as a result a heart-failure caused by a drug overdose. He was only in his mid-20s. The WWE were mad at Flair for mentioning his son's death. It highlighted the issues of drug abuse and young deaths that are common in the wrestling industry.

They are also furious with Flair for a comment that John Cena did not drink before he met Flair. According to Flair, he drinks a six-pack every single night. The WWE felt this was really inappropriate because John Cena is so popular with young children and consider him to be a role model.

Flair was being considered for a high-profile Public Relations position with the WWE, but those plans were scrapped after this event.

Jim Ross was fired over this. Told you it got worse.

So what if John Cena drinks? He's a freaking adult.

Is this a stupid way to punish two legends even though they turned a serious press conference into a comedy special(and yes they are at fault, even though it's funny)? Yes. Does this in any WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, affect the on-screen product, which is supposed to be the most important part of the WWE? Not really. JR has been rarely used in the past 3 years, and I'm sure he wouldn't have been THAT much of a use. He's a Hall Of Famer, a legend, and he's been in the business for a long time, so I'm sure he would have retired on his own terms. And Ric has been a loose cannon for years, I know he's hurting inside, but drinking the pain away and making yourself and the company you represent look like fools is NOT the way to deal with it.

And don't you DARE try to relate WWE to "My Little Pony". I try not to talk about the show at all since it gives out negative reactions, but that's an overstretch. They are two totally different things, nothing in common, and I'm pretty sure that WWE is not turning into what you think it's turning into.

Thank you, KG. People bitching about how much "PG sucks" all seem to think that tits, ass and blood are all the product needs.

Ric Flair used to give us all 3 since 1998.

He also did it in a PG WWF. Though I like blood, it isn't as needed as people think. It got out of hand and didn't mean anything, anymore.

ECW handled that perfectly.

All though, ECW cared more about the Wrestling bit.

I absolutely love ECW but if you notice the use of blood before, during, and about the 6 years after it was gone, I think the business needed to back to it being a rare occurance, it makes it mean a lot more phycologically.

I don't bitch about PG. The thing that i don't understand is that any others liked the event but not WWE.And yeah, I overreact maybe. In PG there are good storylines too ,and matches , so it's not that bad.

[/quote]Mhm I'm on the fence, I do somewhat agree with that. I think the Blood fitted in specifically with certain characters, for instance you'd expect it from a match with New Jack and not so much with a Jerry Lynn match. In all honesty though I never actually cared about blood in ECW, I just found the Wrestling aspect hella awesome to watch. Balls Mahoney's matches in particular always had me stoaked, he always did a better Sky High ( Ball Breaker ) than d'lo in my opinion.

The combination of an Announcer being enthusiastic about moves and great wrestling move entertainment in the ring just... worked?

Edit: On a side note, I find WWE's blood to be a little obnoxious at times, remember the Big Show vs JBL match? lol

The blood in ECW got it it's noteriety, I'll say that, but ECW is beloved for it's character as a promotion. It felt like anyone with enough heart could be a contender.

The idea that we just need to edge up the material is silly. I've bene going back and watching every Nitro and Raw from 96-99, and I found a year of ECW Hardcore tv (93).

You know what I've noticed from the 90's and today's roster? A larger amount of wrestlers and less bodies. Just about everyone on both major rosters can cut the mustard in the ring, I wouldn't give that to half of a lot of the 90's.

Considering you are running out of proxies to hide behind, I would have made some more creative insults.

Then again, 12 year old virgins are never that clever of people.
