Brooke Hogan is gone from TNA, PWInsider.com has confirmed. The story making the rounds is that she was let go from the company on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. It appears she is the latest cut from the company due to their budget restructuring.[/quote]
Update by RagNaRoc:
I had accidentally posted this as a separate topic before noticing that Connor had made this one.
Due to Hulk Hogan being Brooke's father, TNA has kept the release very quiet. It may have happened as early as Tuesday. It is expected that the official reason for the release was because of budget restructuring. But there is very strong talk, even within the WWE locker rooms, that there was something else behind it. The only certainty is that Brooke did not quit.
There had been a lot of resentment towards Brooke. She had been brought in as an adviser to the Knockouts division, despite not having much industry experience and having never worked a match. She also had a "no compete" clause in her contract, which allowed her to refuse to compete in matches without negative consequences. This is particularly important as she signed this contract around the same time that several active wrestlers were also fired for budget restructuring. And it is no secret that Hulk played a major role in getting her the job.
Brooke is also said to have considered quitting recently. During her onscreen romance and marriage to Bully Ray, several media outlets pointed out that Brooke still listed herself as "single" on social networking profiles. Her brother Nick recently announced Brooke's engagement to her real-life boyfriend over Twitter. Brooke received flack from writers and other staff for not staying in character. Especially as Ray went to great lengths to make the relationship look genuine.
